Summary of Position
The Lab Automation Specialist will support the Fulgent Research & Development Team with automated solutions for workflows in our state-of-the-art NGS laboratory. The LAS will develop, test, and support automation for new genomic applications, quality control, quantification, and data generation. The LAS will communicate and collaborate with instrument vendors to develop new automation methods and troubleshoot current protocols.
Key Job Elements
- Working closely with R&D to develop, test, and support automated solutions for workflows in a molecular genetic lab.
- Operating and troubleshooting the liquid handler and other key instruments and workflows.
- Designing, programming, and simulating new methods on automated liquid handler systems or related instruments.
- Communicating and cooperating with instrument vendors for method development and troubleshooting.
- Training and providing ongoing support to end-users of automated workflows in Fulgent Labs.
- Performing routine instrument accuracy and precision checks.
- Managing instrument maintenance procedures and records.
- Performing production tests as needed.
