Job Description

MWH Constructors, a global leader in heavy civil construction of water and wastewater facilities, is currently seeking a Proposal Manager to help develop compelling proposals which describe our expertise and capabilities, effectively demonstrating why our company is best suited to lead critical and complex water/wastewater infrastructure projects.

The successful candidate must be a team-oriented individual and a creative, self-starter, who thrives in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and is capable of managing multiple tasks, incorporating input from team members and efficiently guiding pursuit efforts to meet proposal deadlines. Essential Functions

  • Serve as Proposal Manager on SOQs, proposals, and client deliverables, as required, collaborating with the Regional Director/Vice President, operational leads, and peer proposal professionals.
  • Manage the entire proposal process from 'cradle to completion" utilizing MWH's proposal process. demonstrating strong leadership and coordination skills and a commitment to excellence, submitting high-quality proposals to public agencies.
  • Organize and assign proposal resources; assess requirements and compliance of RFPs/RFQs/RFIs; compile proposal outlines, compliance matrices and schedules, and assign writing responsibilities; assume writing responsibilities; and direct and manage proposal reviews to meet submittal deadlines.
  • Facilitate strategy and messaging workshops; oversee content messaging and collaborate and create professional-grade visuals for proposals and SOQs.
  • Manage and provide guidance to proposal teams, including other marketing personnel, consultants, graphic design personnel, and technical and non-technical writers from throughout the MWH Constructors organization.
  • Manage and coordinate a variety of proposals, SOQs, presentations, sales information and deliverable task.
  • Collaborate with and interview executives, engineers, construction managers, legal, designers, and others to secure information for various writing assignments.
  • Work with Director/Vice President, Regional Manager(s) and peer proposal professionals to identify, categorize, organize and monitor strategic pursuits and coordinate marketing resources accordingly on a consistent and orderly basis.
  • Support marketing presentations for proposal follow-up and/or other sales purposes including interviews and other collateral.
  • Support the development of internal presentations for BD reporting and business group information sharing.
  • Support external marketing initiatives, as assigned, including awards applications and conference participation.
  • Research and compile information from a variety of databases and data sources including resumes, project descriptions and boilerplate.
  • Continually manage, develop, and maintain internal marketing data including resumes, project descriptions, graphics, and templates. Marketing material to be updated at a minimum every quarter.
  • Help ensure proposals are tracked in the company's CRM system Salesforce.
  • Assist with editing and proofreading, as necessary.
  • Assist with archiving proposal elements and company data.
  • Assist with updating corporate sales/knowledge management system.
  • Manage and assist with coordination of subconsultant firms and teaming partners for pursuits.
  • Work in a manner to ensure personal safety and that of fellow employees by following company health and safety guidelines and policies.
  • Actively participate and integrate into one or several industry-leading associations.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree required in journalism, communications, English, business marketing or applicable technical/scientific discipline.
  • A minimum of five to seven years of proposal management experience.
  • Exceptional organizational and leadership skills to develop sales-focused documents.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced team setting, adhering to prescribed department processes.
  • Must have excellent writing skills and be detail oriented.
  • Excellent organization, project management and multi-tasking skills.
  • Self-driven with an ability to work independently alongside marketing and operational team members.
  • Desire to learn, accept oversight and input from colleagues and supervisors.
  • In Design Experience preferred.
  • Working experience with MS Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite and Photoshop, Salesforce, and Teams.
  • Ability to travel as needed: 10-20% per year.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior proposal management experience in the architecture, engineering and construction (A/E/C) industry.
  • Familiarity/experience with MWH Constructors' industry (water, wastewater, environmental remediation, civil engineering/consulting, and construction/construction management related to these fields).
  • Deep understanding of proposal and interview best practices.
  • Possess focused/technical writing skills, specifically related to the municipal water market.

Compensation

  • The anticipated salary for this position is between $110,000 - $130,000 annually, depending on experience.
