The position serves in a senior managerial capacity to coordinate the activities of administrators, faculty, and staff in the preparation of major grant proposals for collaborative, cross-disciplinary projects involving basic and translational biomedical research, research infrastructure and research training. The appointee will consult with groups of principal investigators to conceptualize and develop new research, research infrastructure and training initiatives.
The incumbent will assume the lead responsibility in grant writing and preparation, as well as coordinating the contributions of other participating faculty and staff.
The position will report to the Executive Director of the Office of Grant Development and collaborate with Cancer Center leadership, faculty, and staff across UC Davis. Candidates should have extensive experience preparing scientific grant proposals, particularly to the National Cancer Institute and other NIH Institutes as appropriate. Strong scientific writing and editing skills are required, as well as the ability to effectively work in a team environment and manage complex projects.
