The Perinatal Educator for Scripps is a Childbirth Educator and/or a Certified Lactation Educator/Counselor. In addition, they are responsible for...
* Teaching standardized perinatal education programs throughout the Scripps Healthcare System.
* The Educator is an active team member who works closely with the Supervisor in the development of and implementation of perinatal education programs.
* The Educator performs other duties as assigned.
Preferred Education/Experience/Specialized Skills/Certification:
* Baccalaureate degree in nursing, education, or another field.
Required Education/Experience/Specialized Skills:
* Accomplished adult and/or child teaching skills, excellent communication and organizational skills, ability to function with minimal supervision, bilingual an advantage, strong personal and professional commitment to adult and/or child education programming.
* Previous experience with adult and/or child learning systems/theory.
* Certified Childbirth Educator and/or Certified Lactation Educator or Counselor Course Completed Certificate with one year teaching experience in Perinatal Education.
Required Certification/Registration:
* Childbirth Education and/or Lactation Educator certification.
