Supply Chain Planning Manager, Labels Purchasing

The Supply Chain Planning Manager, Raw Materials Planning - Flexibles is a key leader in the Supply Chain Planning organization is responsible for leading a team of Buyers and Senior Buyers in the purchasing and network management of Labels and Shrink Film supply. This role is ultimately accountable for raw materials availability for production, supporting the Finished Goods Planning team with solutions and execution. This role is heavily focused on process improvement, talent development, KPI monitoring, strategy, execution, and cost management.

Essential Functions

  • Raw Materials Supply Planning
    • Develop annual and tactical raw material purchasing plans in conjunction with supplier base to enhance support finished goods production plans
    • Leverage systems and tools to develop supplier-facing forecasts
    • Hold suppliers accountable to KPIs in relation to on-time production, on-time deployment, and applicable tolerances
    • Work cross-functionally to create the infrastructure for data maintenance and data integrity to drive systematic purchasing decisions
    • Reduce raw material scrap exposure by working with Sales, Planning, Purchasing, and Manufacturing on depletion strategies
    • Optimize inventory positions to enhance supply positions for FG production, increase inventory turns, and decrease freight costs
    • Accountability to raw material supply continuity
    • Develop purchasing methodologies and procedures for each purchasing category
  • Leadership - Recognize and lead opportunity projects that continuously improve the department. Strong moral and ethical standards to lead by example.
    • Lead a team of Buyers and Senior Buyers in the development and execution of purchasing and inventory strategies across all flexible packaging suppliers
    • Responsible for talent development , career paths, and candidate pipeline development
    • Set expectations and accountabilities for the team, creating a culture of open, honest, and timely feedback
    • Lead change management initiatives in technology adoption and process improvement
    • Work collaboratively with the Procurement team to develop annual and tactical supplier selection strategies
    • Solicit feedback from all key stakeholders in the Supply Chain and Manufacturing Organizations, incorporating feedback into execution
  • Supplier Development
    • Work with Procurement, Quality, and Engineering teams to enhance and expand supplier base
    • Develops strategies to minimize mutual costs for suppliers and Niagara
    • Establish the infrastructure and guidelines for raw materials vendor managed inventory (VMI) programs, inclusive of Min/Max levels
  • Collaboration
    • Develop forward-looking plans and process improvements, generating alignment with all stakeholders, including Manufacturing and Sales
    • Establish new product introduction timelines and execution plans with all stakeholders
    • Proactively communicate upcoming raw materials changes and initiatives
  • Process Improvement and Automation
    • Lead process establishment and improvement for the purchasing team with the intent of automation, systematization, and alignment with other departments
    • Gather and develop requirements for process implementation and IT initiatives
    • Strong understanding of systems, with preferred background in Oracle . Understanding technology and IT limitations is critical in managing improvement projects.
    • Ability to lead technology integration with suppliers' supply chains
    • Ability to learn existing IT tools at Niagara quickly - Oracle & OTM
    • Good knowledge of leveraging technical information for data collection
    • Basic understanding of supply chain optimization including Network flow optimization, Inventory Optimization
  • Travels approximately 10%

  • Minimum Qualifications:
    • 6 Years - Experience in Field or similar manufacturing environment
    • 2 Years - Experience managing people/projects

Education

  • Minimum Required:
    • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, Economics, Finance or Manufacturing

    • Master's Degree in Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, Economics, Finance or Manufacturing

Typical Compensation Range

Pay Rate Type: Salary

$128,287.00 - $186,016.00 / Yearly

Bonus Target: 10% Annual
