Job Summary
The role of the Human Resources (HR) Business Partner is to establish and drive HR policies and programs forward, cohesively across multiple business units, to enhance the employee experience and support the strategic growth of the company. This position is responsible for performing duties in several functional areas such as employee relations, performance management, policy implementation, and employment law compliance. This position requires a confident, professional communicator with strong organizational skills.

Essential Functions
  • Manage the human resources activities within assigned business unit cohesively with other members of the HR team.
  • Be the liaison between employees and other HR department team members.
  • Manage all talent acquisition activity including but not limited to opening a requisition, sourcing, interviewing, and hiring.
  • Develop offers for new hires, promotions, and transfers.
  • Conduct new employee orientation, assist with benefit and general onboarding plan development.
  • Assist in maintaining accurate job descriptions and performance management activities.
  • Research and develop competitive salary structures; assist management with compensation administration.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining training plans for assigned business unit(s), departments, and individual employees.
  • Facilitate and support employee engagement and retention programs.
  • Provide day-to-day performance management guidance to line level management such as coaching, counseling, career development and disciplinary actions.
  • Manage intermediate level employee relations issues, conduct investigations, document, and develop resolutions.
  • Perform employee terminations at all levels and conduct exit interviews.
  • Maintain human resource records, including but not limited to personnel, medical and or confidential documents.
  • Assist the Benefits Coordinator with employee benefits administration, including FMLA, or state specific regulation.
  • Maintain safety compliance within business unit, participate in safety programs, and promote safe working behaviors.
  • Assist with workers' compensation claims investigations and required OSHA reporting.
  • Maintain general knowledge of legal requirements at all levels to ensure compliance related to employee management to reduce legal risks and ensure compliance and escalate any escalated items to The Director of HR for evaluation.
  • Assist with business unit restructures, workforce planning, succession planning, and designated acquisitions activity.
  • Analyze employment metrics and trends, in partnership with other members of the HR team, to recommend and develop new policies and programs to enhance the employee experience.
  • Participate in leadership meetings with respective business unit(s) and assists with process improvement projects.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending regular educational trainings.
  • Other duties as assigned with in a team environment.

Technical Competencies:
  • Proficient knowledge and understanding of multiple HR disciplines, including but not limited to talent management, organizational development, performance management, compensation and benefits, training and development, employee and labor relations, and workplace safety.
  • Proficient knowledge of general business practices.
  • Proficient knowledge of relationship management and conflict resolution.
  • Proficient negotiation and presentation skills.
  • Proficient computer literacy, including Microsoft Office and HRIS software.
  • Basic knowledge of processes and technologies used in prototyping and manufacturing.

Education and Experience:
  • Degree in Business Administration, Business Management, Human Resources or other related degree/field.
  • 5+ years' experience in Human Resources required.
  • SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) credential preferred.

Work Hours/Travel:
  • 1st shift work schedule, Monday through Friday. However, occasional after hours work maybe required to support other shifts or time zones.
  • Onsite presence required, remote work only available on occasional circumstances with approval.
  • Local travel 10%, overnight travel up to 25%.
