Position Summary:
The position of Psychologist will work under the general supervision of the Department of Psychiatry and Human Behavior's Chair, Clinical Director, and Clinical Vice Chair to support the overall objectives of both the clinical support within the inpatient unit and the outpatient clinic. This person will work 50% in the inpatient unit and 50% in the outpatient clinic. The Clinical Psychologist will work amongst a team of professionals, including psychiatrists, nurses, psychologists, social workers, chaplain services, integrative health groups, and a variety of faculty and staff, as well as with residents, residents, pre-and post-doctoral fellows, and graduate students. For the inpatient component, the Clinical Psychologist will actively participate in reviewing the current programs and help design the adolescent and adult inpatient programs. In addition, direct clinical care will be provided, such as diagnostic assessments and group therapy. For the outpatient clinic, the focus will be on providing direct clinical care, such as diagnostic assessments and individual therapy. Both services involve patient care and related services for a broad range of conditions, including anxiety, depression, eating disorders, acute psychosis, bipolar disorder, and borderline personality disorder. The employee may provide teaching and consultative services to other professionals and health care trainees such as graduate students, residents, post-docs, and practicum students. Assist with additional duties as needed.

$66,700.00 - $118,500.00 (Annual Salary)

Required:
  • Clinical experience with inpatient programming
  • 5 years experience working with adolescents and adults
  • Clinical experience working with individuals diagnosed with anxiety, depression, eating disorders, suicidal ideation, homicidal ideation, acute psychosis, bipolar disorder, borderline personality disorder, and a multitude of adolescent disorders.
  • Well-versed in the implementation of evidence-based treatments
  • Licensed clinical psychologist in the State of California
  • Clinical experience with inpatient programming
  • 5 years experience working with adolescents and adults
  • Clinical experience working with individuals diagnosed with anxiety, depression, eating disorders, suicidal ideation, homicidal ideation, acute psychosis, bipolar disorder, borderline personality disorder, and a multitude of adolescent disorders.
  • Well-versed in the implementation of evidence-based treatments
  • Model high standards of professional, responsible, accountable, and ethical behavior
  • Demonstrates positive and effective communication skills, including excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to negotiate multilayered regulatory systems and manage competing priorities, and if unable to do so, ability to seek guidance from supervisor in a timely manner
  • An approach to working with colleagues that enhances collaboration and team building
Preferred:
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English (spoken, receptive, and written)
  • Familiarity with EPIC electronic medical record system Ability to evaluate the progress of therapeutic approach and modify as necessary.
  • Ability to develop and present educational programs and / or workshops.
  • Highly effective problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
  • Ability to work in a highly collaborative manner with a diverse client group.
  • Highly effective verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of business software and specialized applications / systems used in behavioral health settings.
