The California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) and California Correctional Health Care Services (CCHCS) is seeking a diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) leader who will lead the Department in DEI strategies to help achieve our mission in the development and delivery of diversity strategies, programs, initiatives, and services that enhance equity, inclusion, and cultural competence in the workplace.
This highly visible role will lead organizational development initiatives to increase employee engagement, with a renewed focus on building an even more inclusive culture across CDCR/CCHCS. This person will foster our values-driven culture and support our high-performance, dedicated, and diverse team to do their best work.
The ideal candidate will be a people-centered leader with a proven capacity to build effective and mission-driven strategies. Experience in leading organizational initiatives in company culture; employee engagement; leadership development; and diversity, equity, and inclusion is a must! This role will report to the Associate Director, Office of Civil Rights, collaborating, working cross-functionally, and partnering closely with all levels of departmental leadership and management to engage with the CDCR/CCHCS teams.

This is a remote and in-office hybrid leadership position located in the Greater Sacramento area. Telework schedules are hybrid and primarily office centered, specific telework schedules may be discussed further during the interview process. The employee may be called into the office with reasonable notice and must forgo telework when necessary.
Travel may be required.
