DIRECTOR/SR. DIRECTOR, SALES OPERATIONS

Job Summary

This senior role is pivotal in driving the sales teams to achieve their sales forecasts and plans by providing outstanding sales reporting, analysis and insights on sales activities. The role is also central to ensuring the product is available to ship on time with his or her leadership of the demand planning process and collaboration with operations on the production plan. The role will provide vital sales reports and reporting tools for all sales staff up to senior sales leadership.

The position will work closely with IS, Finance and Operations teams to develop and enhance processes, reports and systems. The role will lead key sales initiatives and drive execution of key operational activities to achieve sales goals.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manage the Worldwide Sales Revenue and Units quarterly forecast and update this on a weekly basis.
  • Provide regular analysis of customer performance to contracts, customer pricing, customer sales trends, and product sales trends.
  • Review and provide input on large customer deals, and contract terms. Maintain and enhance customer profitability analysis tools.
  • Drive sales teams and production to meet targets and achieve forecast. Analyze variances to forecast.
  • Conduct reviews with customer service of key orders to ensure on time shipping and help facilitate resolution of any significant issues.
  • Manage quarter end sales operational processes and cut-off plan and the execution of these plans.
  • Lead Sales Demand Plan process and collaborate with Operations team to drive the production plan to meet this. This position is the Sales lead for the S&OP process.
  • Enhance existing demand planning systems, tools and processes. Manage the process of optimizing the allocation of inventory to orders.
  • Act as advisor to the operations team on policy, processes and systems for stocking of distribution centers; recommend improvements as needed.
  • Develop and enhance Power BI reports for use by the sales teams and executive staff to track and measure against sales plans and quotas. This includes reports on revenue, capital sales, new contract activity, renewal contract activity, pricing, opportunity pipeline, etc.
  • Lead projects for various company initiatives. For example, integration of new acquisitions, launching new products and direct selling in new markets or channels.
  • Key participant in new Oracle ERP system project with a focus on master data and sales reporting
  • Provide ad hoc analysis and reporting as needed for sales leadership and executive management.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 10+ years in a senior management role for sales operations or finance is required
  • Prior experience working for a large manufacturer of healthcare products is highly desirable
  • Strong finance and accounting background is desirable in this role.
  • Experience working in or closely with sales operations is required
  • Strong team work and interpersonal skills, ability to coach, train and influence people
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Creative problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Outstanding IT skills with Outlook, Excel, and ERP systems
  • Prior experience using salesforce.com or another CRM system is a requisite

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Finance/Accounting; MBA highly desired

Compensation: The anticipated range for this position is $180,000 to $230,000. Actual placement within the range is dependent on multiple factors, including but not limited to skills, education, and experience.

Physical Requirements/Work Environment

This position primarily works in an office environment. It requires frequent sitting, standing and walking. Daily use of a computer and other computing and digital devices is required. May stand for extended periods when facilitating meetings or walking in the facilities. Some local travel is necessary, so the ability to operate a motor vehicle and maintain a valid Driver's license is required.
