Job Summary:

Assign work to Assemblers performing repetitive high volume and/or lower volume electromechanical assembly operations and simple machine set-ups in an assembly and fabrication shop environment. Monitor and enhance the overall level of safety, work quality and productivity within the department. Interact with other departments within the company in support of department and company goals and objectives. Effectively use the established systems and processes of the company.

Job Duties:
  • Assess the ability of the employees within the department to perform the work at hand.
  • Distribute assembly work and other tasks within the department.
  • Train, cross train, and coach department personnel.
  • Ensure that employees assigned to new tasks are adequately trained prior to independent performance of said tasks.
  • Support the implementation of new methods, concepts, etc.
  • Encourage and foster teamwork by promoting open channels of communication, building commitment to a common vision, and establishing and maintaining positive communication with associates.
  • Adhere to production schedules and other requirements.
  • Participate in the determination of the appropriate staffing level for the department.
  • Identify problems and initiate or recommend corrective action.
  • Effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, customers, and employees.
  • Manage demand schedules.
  • Manage manual or electronic Kan Ban systems.
  • Manage work orders.
  • Manage scrap reporting.
  • Manage the collection of tests and/or calibration results and their manual or electronic recording.
  • Manage material movement including interaction with the Consignment and VMI programs.
  • Manage and Perform Cycle Counting activities.
  • Perform simple machine set-ups and make minor adjustments.
  • Operate and tend to light to medium duty machines.
  • Perform manual assembly operations.
  • Count, weigh and package products.
  • Ensure that the requirements of ISO are being met.
  • Ensure that testing equipment is within proper specification and documentation is available in the Area.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
  • Use jigs, fixtures, soldering guns, and small power hand tools.
  • Use hand trucks, carts and racks to handle and move products.
  • Use scales, bag sealers, tape dispensing and other equipment.
Education and Skills Required:
  • Minimum 2-5 years of related work experience is required.
  • High School diploma and/or equivalent work experience is preferred.
  • Bilingual Spanish preferred.

Work Arrangement : Full time- On Site.

Salary Range : $18- $22
