Job Description

Working with Regulatory Environmental Compliance Program Manager to assure full environmental compliance by Fortinet, for example, among other compliance activities, ensuring that all supply chain activities related to Fortinet's product design, manufacture, delivery and disposal are compliant with all relevant global product environmental compliance requirements. Help implement proper robust policies, training and controls to ensure environmental compliance throughout the company.

The role is intended as a compliment to existing safety and trade compliance teams and expected to work closely with those and other relevant functions such as legal counsel, key customers and suppliers.

OPERATIONAL SKILLS &

RESPONSABILITIES:

  • Support and advise design teams in achieving and maintaining all relevant agency certifications and compliance.
  • Provides support and guidance for customers and outside functional groups related to Environmental Product Compliance.
  • Ensure that product plans are fully aligned with all relevant compliance
  • Provide knowledge, support and advice to all functions with respect to product compliance, including legal counsel.
  • Maintain, and revise policies and procedures for the general operation of the Product Compliance Program and its related activities to prevent illegal, unethical, or improper conduct.
  • Asist to manage day-to-day operation of the Program.
  • Help to monitor and report on the performance of the Compliance Program and related activities on a continuing basis, taking appropriate steps to improve its effectiveness.
  • Track and collect Regulatory Environmental Compliance data
  • Collects and maintains vendors' contact information
  • Assist Engineering teams to compile product BOMs assuring that all relevant information is included
  • Experience implementing robust environmental controls, training and policies to ensure full compliance throughout a large, geographically diverse organization
  • Assist in compiling RoHS Technical Documentation Files and other compliance documentation
  • Exceptional knowledge of global Environmental Compliance Directives, Regulations and Standards including: RoHS, Packaging, Battery and WEEE EU Directives, REACH Regulation, and Recycling Programs
  • Expert in at least one of the following:
    • Prop 65
    • Conflict Minerals
    • Japanese and Korean Environmental Regulations
  • Good understanding of Design for Compliance (DfC) concept
  • Exceptional attention to detail, strong relationship and people skills required

SYSTEMS AND TOOLS:

  • Proficient in working with engineering NPI release processes and Product Master Development
  • Experience working with ERP system (Oracle, Agile)
  • Advanced skills in business applications (Microsoft Office-Excel, Access, Project, etc.)

TRAINING AND AUDIT:

  • Assist in maintaining records related to Fortinet's global Regulatory Environmental Program
  • Assist in providing recurrent training to Suppliers
  • Perform internal Product Compliance audits

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's Degree (or higher) required, preferably in Materials Science Engineering or Chemical Engineering
  • Candidates must possess 5-8 years of robust global Regulatory Environmental Compliance experience in a medium to large sized corporate environment.
  • Experience in managing product compliance process and evidence data collection to assess compliance.
  • The candidate should be able to understand & interpret the international environmental laws & regulations, respond to the legislated environmental directives being instituted throughout the world.
  • Must be a skilled communicator across multiple cross-functional departments as well as possess a keen ability to understand & interpret the international environmental laws, directives and regulations
  • Team player who has excellent people skills, and who is efficient in getting the job done right and properly, respectful of others' time
  • Ability to think quickly and work effectively in a fast-paced environment

Wage ranges are based on various factors including the labor market, job type, and job level. Earnings for this position are expected to be $110,000 - $180,000 Exact salary offers will be determined by factors such as the candidate's subject knowledge, skill level, qualifications, experience, and geographic location.

All roles are eligible to participate in the Fortinet equity program, Bonus eligibility is reviewed at time of hire and annually at the Company's discretion
