Position Overview:

As the Business Manager, you will serve as a key strategic advisor and right-hand person to the executive leadership team. Your role will encompass a wide range of responsibilities, including project management, communications, stakeholder engagement, and organizational optimization. You will play a pivotal role in driving initiatives forward, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives, and fostering collaboration across departments. The Business Manager plays a crucial role in ensuring that the business operates efficiently and effectively, acting as both a facilitator and a driver of the organization's strategic agenda.

Responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to the following:

  • Strategic Planning: Assist the CEO and other executives in coordinating strategic plans to advance the company's mission and objectives and to promote revenue, profitability, and growth.
  • Operational Support: Oversee and ensure the implementation of strategic initiatives, often acting as a project manager to ensure that different departments align with the executive's vision.
  • Communication: Serve as a liaison between top management and other stakeholders, ensuring clarity in communication and consistency in the execution of company policies and strategies.
  • Meeting and Agenda Management: Prepare for and facilitate meetings and leadership discussions. This often includes defining the agenda, keeping time, ensuring key issues are discussed, and follow-ups.
  • Problem Solving: Address issues that affect the overall operations of the organization, mediating disputes, and making necessary decisions to foster a productive work environment.
  • Team Leadership and Development: Build and lead teams, providing mentoring and guidance to staff.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Monitor performance indicators, highlighting trends and analyzing causes of unexpected variance. Develop reports for management regarding the status of ongoing projects and initiatives.

To join our band, you'll need the following experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, or a related field. Advanced degrees like an MBA can be preferred.
  • Graduate experience in management, consulting, or a related field. Active player is preferred.
  • Proven experience in a leadership role, with a track record of driving strategic initiatives and managing complex projects.
  • Strong leadership and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to manage cross-functional teams and multi-disciplinary projects.
  • Personal Attributes: High integrity, discretion, and impartiality, with the ability to work well under pressure and handle sensitive information.

Pay Rate: $130,000.00 - $163,000.00 annually depending on background and experience. This position is eligible to participate in the Guitar Center Company bonus program based on Company performance.
