How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?

Responsible for specializing in the effective execution, drafting, and management of customer contracts. Reporting to the Customer Contract Manager, who, in turn, reports to the West Division Director of Pricing and Profitability, the Customer Contract Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring the seamless handling of customer contracts from initiation to completion. This position requires substantial coordination with internal teams, attention to detail, excellent collaboration and communication skills, and a commitment to the overall efficiency of contract processes.

This position offers a target salary range of $56,000 - $75,000.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for adherence to company policies including safety and the use of personal protective equipment.

  • Drafting: Collaborate closely with internal teams to ensure the accurate drafting of customer contracts in a consistent and professional format. Ensure contracts align with organizational objectives, legal standards, and internal policies.

  • Review and Approval: Coordinate all internal parties' thorough review and approval of contracts as required. This includes review of redline documents for commercial terms and working with sales teams to understand implications of changing contract language to determine acceptable commercial risks. Collaborate with legal and other relevant departments to secure timely approvals for changes to legal terms by providing accurate and complete information.

  • Signature Execution: Oversee the seamless execution of contracts and ensure all signatures are obtained following appropriate Delegation of Authority.

  • Onboarding: Facilitate accurate and timely onboarding for new customer contracts and pricing by collaborating with internal teams for a seamless transition.

  • Record Keeping: Maintain meticulous and organized records of customer contracts and related documents.

  • Performance and Compliance: Monitor and assess contract performance against established metrics. Collaborate with internal teams to communicate effectively regarding contractual requirements and obligations, including handling force majeure events. Support the execution of pricing adjustments as allowed in the contract.

  • Dispute Resolution: Collaborate with internal teams to resolve customer contract-related disputes, ensuring fair and effective resolutions.

  • Renewal, Amendment, and Termination: Assist in evaluating the need for contract renewals and/or replacements, amendments, or terminations. Collaborate internally to initiate and oversee the renewal process for seamless transitions. Support internal teams in reviewing customer redline documents to meet evolving needs. Assist in the execution of terminations and termination acknowledgements in adherence to contractual terms and regulations.

Required Education:

  • Required: Bachelor's degree in Business, Legal Studies, or equivalent experience.

  • Preferred: Certification in Contract Management (e.g., CPCM, CCM, or similar) and/or degree in Legal Studies or Business Administration.

Required Length & Type of Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years proven experience in executing various aspects of customer contracts.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSA's):

  • Strong understanding of legal principles and contract law.

  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.

  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

  • Proficiency with creating and managing opportunities in Salesforce.com is preferred, but not required

  • Proficiency with relevant software for contract management, including:

    • Google G-Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides), Microsoft Excel, and Word.

    • Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) programs like Ironclad or DocuSign.

    • SAP, with an understanding of the order management process and, preferably, SAP's pricing structure.

    • PROS, preferably with an understanding of the Sales Optimizer product

  • Excels in a deadline-oriented environment and demonstrates a high level of competence in organizing and prioritizing multiple work assignments.

  • Exhibits customer focused behavior to build relationships with all levels and roles in the organization.

  • Decision making and Accountability: Must be willing to take responsibility for ethical decisions and actions, holding oneself and others accountable for upholding ethical principles
