| Duties: | Perform a variety of assignments related to the accuracy of position and velocity determination, and trajectory analysis. Typical assignments include performance analyses of satellite navigation systems and their users. Perform orbit determination for a variety of satellite missions using real and simulated data. Design and evaluate algorithms and physical models. Develop and perform experiments to evaluate and improve orbit determination performance. Duties also include participation in technical interchange meetings and design reviews, and critiquing contractor designs and analyses. |
| Qualifications: | Advanced degree in an Engineering, Physics, or Mathematical Science curriculum desired. Experience in astrodynamics, orbit mechanics, statistics, and estimation theory as well as proficiency in programming (Fortran, Matlab, C, or C ) desired. Experience with UNIX, PC, and Linux computer systems. Competence in oral and written communication is necessary. Interpersonal skills and attitudes to work in a cooperative technical effort are essential. The ability to work independently is also required. |
