Summary

Responsible for assisting the Clinical Dietitians in performance of clerical and technical duties associated with provision of nutritional care and food service to patients. Plans, prioritizes and organizes information for patient care activities. Performs and documents Nutrition Screening/Assessment on patients and develops nutritional care plan in accordance with established departmental standards, policies and procedures. Provides basic nutrition counseling and education to patients on Regular and routine Modified Diets in accordance with departmental standards.

Requirements

Minimum two-year college education in accredited Dietetic Technician Program or equivalent. Must be able to read, write and speak English proficiently. Minimum two years experience in hospital food service with at least one year as Dietetic Technician, Clerk or assistant, with duties similar to those outlined above. Maintains current membership in American Dietetic Association. Demonstrates effective verbal, non-verbal, and written communications skills and maintains team harmony in goal achievement. Communicates with dietitians concerning diets, special requests made by patients and need for diet/menu adjustment. Los Angeles Fire Card within 30 days of hire.
