Due to continuing growth we are seeking Junior Geologist for our Irvine, CA office with experience associated in Geology and Field Work.

Responsibilities

? Making preparations for field work including: collecting supplies, preparing forms, and cleaning
and ordering equipment, etc.
? Requesting bids from Subcontractors
? Communicating with subcontractors regarding scope of projects and equipment requirements
? Responsible for working with subcontractors to schedule field work
? Requesting documents from contractors on site
? Responsible for preparing field related documents
? Assisting with drafting work plans
? Drafting site assessment plans
? Contributing to a completion of corrective action plans and feasibility studies
? Assisting in the preparation of quarterly status reports
? Responsible for field oversight of contractors
? Responsible for conducting soil logging and classification
? Preparing water and soil samples for analysis
? Responsible for administering site safety requirements for all parties on site
? Leading contractors, coworkers and other on site through daily safety meetings
? Responsible for infield communication with stakeholders and or escalating issues to the Project Manager
? Responsible for maintaining all field records including: Daily field reports, client specific paperwork and safety reports

Qualifications

? Safety conscious
? Excellent organizational skills
? 0-3 years of previous experience required
? Intermediate knowledge of MS Office is required
? Previous experience working with budgets and or deadlines would be considered an asset
? Experience working as a field technician would be helpful
? Bachelors degree in Geology/Environmental Science/Marine Science or Chemistry or related field
? HAZWOPER training would be an asset
? 75% of this role involves working on various field and client sites
? 20% of this role involves working independently
? Attending project meetings
? Contributing to written reports
? Interacting with sub contractors
? Verbal communication is vital to this role in order to effectively communicate with a diverse audience
including: co-workers, Project Managers, clients contractors government agencies etc.
? Written communication is vital to this role in order to effectively contracture to technical written reports.
? Written communication is also vital to this role in order to transfer visual observations made in the field
into accurate technical documentation
? Physical demands of this role include: heavy lifting while on site, long hours, working in extreme weather conditions etc.
