This position reports to the Head of Clinical Contracts & Finance for Gilead Sciences. The position will be located in Foster City, CA - SF Bay Area. |
| Essential Duties and Job Functions: |
Develops, implements and maintains highly complex specific policies and procedures, demonstrating understanding of corporate goals as they relate to clinical contracts and finance. Re-engineers clinical contract and finance business processes. Provides information to Senior Management on contract and finance issues. Ensures clinical contracts and finance are contributing to corporate success in a timely and cost effective manner. Manages clinical contract and finance staff grade 30 and below. At a subsidiary level, may have additional overall responsibility for the clinical research, regulatory and/or medical information functions within the Medical Affairs department. |
| Knowledge, Experience and Skills: |
Typically requires a BA or BS degree and minimum 12 years of relevant experience in contract negotiation and/or clinical finance or a MS degree and minimum 10 years of relevant experience in contract negotiation and/or clinical finance. Requires excellent verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills. Exhibits broad knowledge of clinical research across functions. Must be able to independently work on extremely complex problems and provide viable solutions. Prior experience in personnel management required. |
