Job Description: Maintains operation of local area, world wide and virtual private networks (VPN) for the Department of Homeland Security, Customs & Border Protection (CBP) Air and Marine Operations Center (AMOC) systems and circuits. Performs preventative maintenance and troubleshooting of specialized radar processing hardware and associated networks. Maintains Computer Systems servers and workstations; telephone switch (PABX) and database; various personal computers and peripherals; Communications Switching System; computerized radio control system; and various electronic, optical and mechanical equipment. Assists telephone companies in fault isolation of problems as they occur for radio, radar, digital data, and voice telephone circuits. Duties include (but are not limited to): (1)Troubleshoot and repair computer systems. (2)Troubleshoot and repair radio networks. (3)Troubleshoot and repair Telecommunications systems. (4)Monitor equipment and circuit status. (5)Identify and reset or replace malfunctioning equipment. (6)Identify and reset or replace malfunctioning equipment. (7)Accept technical direction for the Senior Electronics Technician, Systems Engineer, and other senior technical personnel, including persons from other companies developing systems for the AMOC. (8)Complete special projects as assigned according to scheduled completion dates. (9)Understand data flow from facility demark to the operations workstations. (10)Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds; pull floor tile; run cable in both overhead and under floor cable trays and/or conduit. (11)Work rotating and unusual duty shifts and subject to standby and short notice mandatory overtime covering 7/24/365 work schedule. Job Requirements: *High School diploma or equivalent. *Four years experience in Computer systems support, data processing and voice/data systems. *Directly related formal education may be substituted for experience. *Familiar with running and termination of data cables. *Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds; pull floor tile; run cable in both overhead and under floor cable trays and/or conduit. *Must be a U.S. citizen *Must have or obtain and maintain a defense investigative (civilian) SECRET security clearance. *AS degree in Electronics Technology or equivalent Military training desired.
