We are gearing up for a very exciting period in our long history and currently have an opening for a part time, adjunct Environmental Science Instructor at our Roseville campus. OVERVIEW: The role of this position is to help facilitate student learning in program areas through a variety of methodologies, types of assessment and, to facilitate an environment conducive to student success. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * promote student retention and actively participate in campus activities designed to promote student success; * provide quality instruction; * meet course objectives, requirements, and student learning outcomes; * manage the classroom environment using a variety of teaching strategies; * provide formative and summative assessment of student learning; * facilitate a safe, positive and supportive learning environment; * support students in their efforts to succeed; * maintain accurate records and submit records and data by the due dates, compliance with FERPA, and other regulations; * participate in professional growth opportunities and support campus events; * model and employ professional and positive interpersonal relationships with colleagues and students; * work collaboratively with all members of the Heald-wide community; * serve on committees; * advise students; * participate in reviewing curriculum and course related conference calls; * provide feedback on textbooks for course adoptions; * respond to course/program surveys; and * adapt to changes in the work environment. JOB SPECIFICATIONS: * Excellent communication skills * A desire to support and motivate students throughout their academic career at Heald * Candidate must hold a Master’s degree in Environmental Sciences or related field. Qualifying related fields include: Earth Sciences, Biology, Urban Studies, Regional Planning, Oceanography, Chemistry, Materials Science, Biochemistry, and Toxicology. Candidates must meet ONE of the following requirements in order to be qualified: 1.) Hold a Master’s degree relative to the course content 2.) Hold a Master’s degree and at least 12-14 graduate or undergraduate semester units in the course content, or 3.)
