The Market CFO for United Healthcare of Northern California will have complete managerial and executive oversight for all aspects surrounding the financial planning and reporting of the region's health plan. The Market CFO will also provide input regarding the operations of the health plan as well as departmental policies, procedures and budgeting. The Market CFO is a senior leader that supports the success of the market by serving as the financial advisor to the CFO and other market leaders.
Additional responsibilities:
- Responsible for market budgetary, planning and operational results efficiencies.
- Works closely with functional partners (Pricing, Underwriting, Health Care Economics, Network Pricing, Regional Finance, Corporate Finance and Sales) to achieve market/regional goals.
- Develops actionable, comprehensive programs to fulfill objectives of the department, division and UnitedHealth Group.
- Generates forecasts and analyzes trends in areas including sales, SG&A, provider performance, membership, medical costs and premium yields.
- Work closely with the market CEO and actuarial partners to establish comprehensive business plans and related pricing strategies.
- Accountability for driving the market "affordability" agenda as well as establishing financial analytics surrounding competitive analysis and SWOT analysis.
- Performs cost benefit analysis and provides financially sound strategic recommendations to market / regional leadership.
- Evaluates and uses technology to enhance operational efficiencies and market performance.
- Serves on the extended regional executive leadership team and provides sound input and recommendations to the regional leadership team.
- Makes enhancements to system of internal controls.
- Provides comprehensive balanced advice on finance policies.
- Interact and partner with senior leadership, inside and outside the organization.
- Manages and thoroughly monitors strategic projects that have an impact inside and outside of Finance.
- Influences actions of peers inside and outside of Finance.
