| Summary: |
Provide Engineering subject matter expertise in the meteorologic and oceanographic field of work as it relates to systems engineering and technical assistance support to projects at SPAWAR Systems Center Pacific that advance the development of U.S. Navy C4ISR systems technology to collect, transmit, process, display and, most critically, manage information essential to successful military operations. To support the system engineering and integration functions that are key to SSC Pacific's efforts, the Sr. Engineer will collaborate in research programs pushing the state-of-the-art in such diverse fields as atmospheric physics, electro-optics, underwater acoustics, engineering psychology, signal propagation and processing, artificial intelligence, material sciences, microelectronics, chemical oceanography, environmental and biological sciences. METOC programs, including space-based sensors, provide a wide array of essential meteorologic and oceanographic products and services to naval forces afloat and ashore. This person must interface with other engineers and technicians in a matrixed environment to accomplish tasks on multiple projects. Mental dexterity and agility is essential.
Specific Duties:
* On-site METOC related systems engineering and technical assistance for C4ISR projects.
* Development of engineering data for various project documents, technical manuals, drawings, engineering investigations, etc.
* Troubleshooting skills of project systems.
* Program Support. Participate in system design meetings, reviews, IPTs, working groups; provide technical comment on project system plans; provide assistance on test reports and briefs; draft, edit, evaluate, review, comment on test & evaluation documentation for projects.
* Prepare inputs to monthly progress reports and other as needed reports, exhibits and other materials as required.
* Prepare various task order contract reports and other deliverables for the client(s) as required.
* Provide excellent written materials and oral presentations to customers in both industry and government

| Required Knowledge - Skills - and Abilities: |
Bachelors Degree from an accredited college or university in oceanography, engineering, computer science, physics, or a related discipline and a minimum of ten (10) years of recent and relevant professional experience applying engineering and METOC principles to investigate, analyze, plan, design, develop, or evaluate military C4ISR systems, especially Navy METOC systems required.
Additional Requirements:
* Ability to successfully complete the Stanley Background Investigation to include; 50 State Criminal, Education, Employment, Credit and Driving Records Checks for continued employment.
* Possession of an ACTIVE TOP SECRET security clearance with a Special Clearance Investigation is required to begin employment; US Citizenship is required.
* Demonstrated experience and success in providing technical management oversight of complex projects.
* Excellent written/oral communications.
* Excellent interpersonal skills and tact in dealing with all stakeholders, customers in particular.
* Ability to travel up to 25% or less.
* Ability to use MS-Office software.

* Experience with SPAWAR Systems Center projects and acquisition a plus.
* A Master's degree in technical field plus (10) years of professional experience in the areas listed above is preferred.
