| Duties: |
Develop systems engineering tools, processes and policies for SMC center-wide implementation in space system offices as a member of the Systems Engineering and Software Directorate in the Chief Architect/Engineer Division. Review Systems Engineering Plans and participate in Air Force wide Systems Engineering forums. Lead technical efforts and manage deliverables from ETG and other matrix organizations in specs and standards development, process assessments and other systems engineering initiatives. Produce high quality briefings, schedules, technical reports, policy letters and other written deliverables for the Aerospace Chief Architect/Engineer. Work with program offices to implement and document systems engineering processes, for example risk management, configuration management, parts management, or design reviews. Participate in multi-discipline working groups such as test, software, manufacturing, or systems engineering planning. Lead interdisciplinary teams to develop roadmaps for Industrial Base and critical technology solutions. Customer interfaces include SMC/EA (Engineering and Architecture) and various SMC program offices. |
| Qualifications: |
A B.S. degree in engineering or science is required; and advanced degree is preferred. Position requires 12 years of related experience. Recent direct space systems acquisition support in a program office is desirable. Demonstrated technical expertise in an engineering specialty such as launch systems, satellite systems, environmental, systems safety, software, parts management, configuration management, earned value management or other applicable areas. Previous experience leading multidisciplinary teams is desired. Outstanding customer relation skills and demonstrated superb verbal and written communication skills are required. Flexibility to assume a variety of tasks required. Advanced degree in engineering or science required. A current SBI is highly desirable. |
