POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Responsible to the Bakersfield College Clinical Faculty and Registered Nurse on duty for patient care and nursing procedures, excluding taking or noting physician's orders and skills for which the student has been given no prior formal instruction. This is a Bakersfield College workforce position in which the college and Mercy Hospital collaborates on providing a work experience that enhances the clinical learning experience for the nursing student. It is the expectation that the student will transition into the Nurse Extern program upon meeting scholastic requirements. Bakersfield College nursing student, must have completed 1st semester of ADN program and be registered in Nurse Intern course.
