Reporting to the Director of Group Sales, the Sales Manager is responsible for generating business within the luxury meetings and events both, corporate, association, and incentive sales markets within North America. The ideal candidate will be responsible for business development and maintaining relationships with key partners including third party intermediaries, global sales offices, industry associations and memberships strategically aligned with the hotel's reposition. The successful candidate must possess a minimum of three years experience in luxury hotel group sales, preferably in a hotel environment.
Summary of Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for driving group business within the corporate and association sales markets within North America.
  • Building and maintaining relationship with key industry partners including third party intermediaries, global sales offices, industry associations and memberships.
  • Execute effective sales trips to key feeder markets to build the hotel's reputation in accordance with the hotel's strategic reposition following a $48M renovation.
  • Achievement of sales activities and all objectives outlined in the annual strategic plan.
  • Attend and represent the Claremont Club & Spa at tradeshows and sales calls in accordance with the hotel's sales & marketing strategic plan.
  • Exceed personal sales goals, monthly, quarterly, and annually.
  • Proactively develop relationships with key brand and local hotel partnership and establish a reputation for the hotel within the global group sales community.
  • Develop lead sources and rapport with key personnel including DMOs & CVBs, Fairmont Global Sales Office sellers, sister hotel sellers, and assigned client base.
  • Collect and evaluate market and competitive intelligence to maximize group sales opportunities.
  • Ensure that day to day responsibilities such as prospecting, account development, site inspections and proper account management practices are completed to company standards.
  • Ensure rate negotiations are within the established parameters.
  • Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports as required.
  • Develop and implement quarterly action plans utilizing strategies and long term goals based on market and competitive intelligence.
  • Organize and participate in appropriate sites, familiarizations, and industry trade shows.
  • Maintain active memberships in industry related organizations and associations pertaining to market.
  • Coordinate and financially manage effective sales trips and appointments within assigned markets, including timely follow up and trip reports.
  • Be an active member of the revenue management team to determine strategies to optimize revenue opportunities, and implement initiatives to drive revenue
  • Utilize computer software applications to effectively track, solicit, book and follow up on accounts in a proactive manner.
  • Support and encourage positive team approach.
  • Implement directives as outlined from the Director of Group Sales.
  • Uphold the highest standard of internal and external customer service at all times.
  • Perform any and all other tasks which are assigned

Qualifications
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 1 year group sales market / or hotel sales management experience required.
  • Preferred experience selling for a luxury hotel brand.
  • Bachelors Degree in Hotel Management preferred.
  • Demonstrated strength in outreach for cold sales prospecting of new business.
  • Ability to develop relationships with all levels of clientele, and interact with people from different cultures and backgrounds.
  • Astute attention to detail.
  • A passion for exceeding client expectations and sales goals.
  • Highly organized, results-oriented with the ability to work well under pressure.
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills essential.
  • Strong prospecting and contract negotiation skills.
  • Computer literacy in various applications including Micros Sales & Catering Opera, Word, Excel, Power Point and LinkedIn is required.
  • Ability to understand and interpret financial data.
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Positive attitude and supportive, team based approach towards the attainment of the hotel's short and long term goals.
  • Ability to travel and work flexible hours and days.

Must have proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
