Competence Engineer 3

In San Diego, CA, ASML seeks Competence Engineer 3 to enable serviceengineers in the field to support customers by applying expertise in asubsystem and serve as the technical interface between local Customer Service(CS) organizations and ASML's headquarters; interface with Development &Engineering (D&E), Manufacturing, System Engineering, Product Managementand Supply Chain sectors; identify and resolve gaps in existing service mix andsystem design or work with other sectors to resolve them; perform analysis of client system structuralissues; evaluate new product designs for serviceability, quality andreliability; identify structural improvements to the design of ASML productsand estimate their impact on CS operation; identify structural improvements tothe service mix and implement them in CS globally; validate service mixsupplied with new products and functionalities by D&E while safeguardingthe needs for CS Fab Teams to be able to execute maintenance independently;create and maintain service processes and procedures; transfer and maintainrelevant knowledge to CS field engineers through documentation, training andknowledge transfer; facilitate and maintain a global competence network;communicate concisely with peers and management; and develop/refine business processes. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineeringand 5 years of relevant experience; strong computer skills, including expertisewith MS Excel and MS Word; excellent written and verbal communication skills;ability to translate, statistically analyze data, and effectively reportproblems through written and/or graphical formats; excellent customer serviceskills, with an advanced understanding of customer relationship building; andup to 15% domestic and international travel required.
