Hotel Overview:

The Fairmont San Jose is perfectly situated in the heart of downtown and is the prominent luxury hotel for business and social events in the city. Duties & Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Director of Revenue Management, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

  • Maximize room revenue contribution through a thorough understanding of all booking channels and management of inventory and rates
  • Optimize hotel revenue by effective application of revenue management practices and tools
  • Monitor booking pace in order to determine pricing and availability controls. Discusses changes to, and implements those changes in distribution plan accordingly.
  • Fully utilize the Revenue Optimization Cycle of the Revenue Management system, to ensure that the appropriate overrides are in place, special events are accurately loaded, and the sharing of knowledge with the system is maintained.
  • Support the Director of Revenue Management and Sales Team members in the strategic selection of the right piece of business, in keeping with FRHI guidelines.
  • Tracking and analysis of competitive set pricing and yield strategies, gaining the ability to predict the comp set reaction to changes in the marketplace.
  • Fully versed with all reporting platforms and data sources the hotel has access to, actively monitoring and influencing data quality. Responsible for generating various reporting on room revenue strategies and projections.
  • Co-chairs and prepares materials for the weekly RevPRO Meetings
  • Maintain OTA Partners' distribution to ensure optimal display of the hotel.
  • Keeps updated on electronic distribution channels and proactively seeks out new ways to shift business from manual to electronic connectivity. Liaises with Global Reservations Center to optimize distribution.
  • Monitors and optimizes opportunities to drive incremental revenues / upsell programs via all channels.
  • Regularly liaises with Global Reservations Centre resources to ensure all booking channels are optimized.


Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Previous hotel experience, preferably within Revenue, Reservations or Front Office
  • Strategic thinking combined with the proven ability to move strategy to action are foremost attributes

  • Proven experience in analysis and problem solving required.

  • University/College degree in a related discipline preferred

  • Strong experience or adaptable training in the use of automated systems e.g. Excel, Word, IDEAS, Opera

  • Strong understanding of the hotel industry, business level and volume associated to each segment
