In SanJose, CA, ASML seeks Design Engineer 3 to join the software quality assuranceteam; be responsible for developing and executing exploratory and automatedtests to ensure high quality of world-class products; be challenged with highskill quality assurance testing methodologies in a concurrent computingsoftware architecture environment; have the opportunity to work with softwaredevelopers, hardware engineers and the application engineering organization ona regular basis; play an important part in the company's product developmentprocess, responsible for conducting tests before the product launches to ensurethe software runs smoothly and meets the clients' needs while beingcost-effective; monitor all stages of software development to identify andresolve malfunctions to meet quality standards; review requirements,specifications and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningfulfeedback; create detailed, comprehensive and well-structured test plans andtest cases; estimate, prioritize, plan and coordinate testing activities;design, develop, execute and optimize automation scripts; identify, record,document thoroughly and track bugs; create, maintain, optimize and performthorough regression testing; strictly follow the engineering process to performnew feature qualification and bug verification in release cycles; enhance testcoverage; perform root cause analyses for the critical bugs and conductcontinuous improvements in all aspects; and identify risks and timely escalateto direct reports. Ph.D. degree inComputer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Applied Mathematics,Physics, Applied Physics, or a closely-related field; knowledge of and/orexperience with modeling, simulation and/or testing; knowledge of and/orexperience with operating systems (e.g. CentOS, SLES), relational databases(e.g. SQL, sqlite, MariaDB), distributed high performance computing platforms(e.g. SGE, LSF), version control systems (e.g. P4, bitbucket), continuous buildsystems (e.g. Hudson, bamboo), defect management systems (e.g. JIRA), parallelcomputing, file system management, and client/server architecture; strongunderstanding of software lifecycle and quality engineering methodology; goodnumerical analysis and mathematical modeling skills; proficiency in C/C++,Python, Java, Perl or shell scripting, or MATLAB; knowledge of and/orexperience in Linux/Unix environment; and knowledge of full-waveelectromagnetics, optics, electron-beam lithography, optical proximitycorrection, and lens and scanner required.
