FEDERAL RESERVE SYSTEM OVERVIEW

The Federal Reserve Bank's mission and work are built on over hundred years of strength, stability, and excellence. No other organization does what we do or has a greater impact on global economies. Our mission is to promote low inflation, full employment, and financial stability as well as provide services to financial institutions and the Treasury.

FEDERAL RESERVE BANK OF SAN FRANCISCO OVERVIEW

The Reserve Bank of San Francisco is one of Twelve Reserve Banks responsible for setting the nation's monetary policy, serving the as the fiscal agent for the United States Treasury and supervising banking institutions, ensuring their stability and compliance with banking regulations. Our headquarters are in SF, CA serving the largest geographic district within the Federal Reserve System. With Branches offices in Los Angeles, Seattle, Portland, Salt Lake City, and Phoenix.

GOLD INTERN PROGRAM OVERVIEW

Invest in your future and consider joining the Growing Opportunity for Leadership and Diversity (GOLD) Program. Our paid internship program will offer you the opportunity to work on projects that supports the Bank's business and impact the United States economy.

GROUP/DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW

The Strategy, Risk + Analytics group shapes and communicates the overall Bank strategic direction, leads Bank-wide strategic planning efforts, advances the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) program, supports data-driven decision-making, and leads critical initiatives.  The group works closely with Bank and Group leadership to accelerate innovation across the Bank, and drive collaboration, efficiency and effectiveness in Bank operations.

POSITION/PROJECT OVERVIEW

The types of projects that the Strategy, Risk + Analytics group undertakes are often short-term and high impact.  For that reason, the intern will be asked to take ownership of a project and see it to completion, even in the relatively short period of a summer internship.  In addition, due to the Bank-wide nature of the work, the intern will have both the opportunity and challenge of interacting with a broad set of stakeholders from across multiple Groups, as well as interacting with top Bank leadership.

Because the Strategy, Risk + Analytics Group is relatively small, the summer intern will immediately be a critical resource in contributing to the goals and objectives of the team.  In addition, because much of our work is future-focused, the team particularly values new, diverse insights and approaches to our work that current undergraduate students are able to bring.
