The Director of Fraud Risk Management is a key role within the association that will be a strategic leader, leading program maturity, initiating and building new programs within fraud risk management, fraud prevention, and etc.
FUNCTIONAL OVERVIEW:
The Director of Fraud Risk Management will lead a team to develop and implement the organization's fraud strategy and framework. This person will lead all aspects of the structuring of policies, processes, and tools, that are needed to ensure the prevention, detection, and investigation of fraud, suspicious activity, and recovery in a regulated environment. Additionally, this role will direct and supervise the day to day operations of the fraud investigations specialist and associate level employees.
This leader along with the team they lead will drive improvement in operational risk of systems, processes, and tools across our layered controls. The team will use internal data and log sources, and external intelligence, in order to determine and explain how the fraud occurred and provide a continuous feedback loop into teams impacted by the learning.
The unit is expected to maintain and uphold a high level of integrity in performing job duties and should support the organizations ability to grow through identifying internal and external vulnerabilities.
This person should seamlessly communicate and present effectively to all levels of employees within the organization. Collaboration is also an essential skillset for this leader to possess as it is expected that they can resolve escalated issues arising from operations and requiring influencing senior leaders and stakeholders across all departments.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Address regulatory notifications and work with regulators in resolving fraud incidents including criminal referrals to FCA.
Chair the Fraud Risk Committee
Develop short- and long-term strategies for the fraud operations function to support the consistent and effective identification, assessment, and mitigation of fraud and AML risk.
Drive a roadmap of initiatives aligned to business and company goals and objectives. This includes demonstrating a data-backed approach in decision-making and handling fraud risk while championing a culture of process excellence and focused utilization of key performance indicators and key risk indicators for continuous improvement of the anti-fraud practices.
Oversight into the day to day monitoring, reporting and insight generation and managing to our quality standards as well as our critical metrics
Ensure two-way open communication throughout the organization. This includes keeping your partners informed on strategies and key issue improvements/attributes to prevent, detect, and/or respond to fraud events, address fraud or operational risks associated with new initiatives, or improve the efficiency of existing initiatives
Drive employee engagement and a high-performance culture within the team, ensuring effective performance management, mentoring, and development of the team, all while crafting an environment where people can excel through accountability, support, and empowerment
Establish Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) and performance indicators against company goals for each team
LEVELS OF SUPERVISION EXERCISED AND RECEIVED:
Works under general direction of the Head of Operational Risk Management.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
8+ years in a management or leadership position and with previous experience working in the financial services, fintech space or sophisticated fraud operational role
Previous experience in fraud investigations with a background in operations preferred
Experience with case management tooling required
A strong leader, doer, motivator, and decision-maker with demonstrable ability to work well with people at all levels
Self-starter with solid sense of urgency and accountability and excellent focus on attention to detail with the capability to work and make decisions in a constantly evolving environment
Results driven, forward thinking approach with ability to problem-solve complex issues to drive shared goals and outcomes across internal and external teams
Able to develop and effectively articulate a vision & strategy as well as communicate strategic direction
Ability to analyze qualitative and quantitative data to formulate meaningful insights and compile information in a structured, logical manner.
ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Must have the ability to perform basic office tasks and work in a typical office setting. Employee will be sitting for extended periods of time and accomplishing work at a desk and work at a computer for an extended period. Must have strong written and verbal communication skills to adequately convey ideas and work well with a team. Ability to talk and hear, sit and use their hands and fingers, and reach in all directions is essential in performance of the job. Some lifting and moving of items up to 25 pounds required. Work during established business hours and may require occasional weekend and/or evening work. Travel required.
PAY RANGE:
Minimum - $118,320.00 Midpoint - $147,900.00 Max - $184,875.00.00
This range is reflective of the national salary average for this position and will be adjusted using geographic variance for physical location of the hired candidate. American AgCredit may compensate outside of the salary range for bona fide reasons not related to membership in a protected class.
