Joining our Financial Services Consulting practice is an opportunity to help make the world more honest, transparent, safe, and secure. As a Credit Risk Senior Consultant- Small Business Administration (SBA), you will be responsible for:

  • Performing Small Business Administration (SBA) 7a reviews and writing reports
  • Working closely with the SBA on the various types of compliance reviews of SBA Lenders
  • Performing SBA compliance reviews and commercial loan review work when not reviewing SBA loans
  • Providing loan review services and consulting with clients on credit related matters
  • Making and sustaining meaningful client relationships
  • Supervising, training and reviewing the work of other consultants
  • Managing key aspects of client service projects from planning to completion
  • Becoming a trusted advisor to client management by providing appropriate recommendations and solutions
  • Supporting proposal and business development activities by identifying new target clients, building business relationships with key executives, developing/presenting proposals

Qualifications:

Educational and Professional Credentials

  • Bachelor's degree required. Major in Accounting, Finance, or Economics is preferred
  • 3-5 years' experience of working in financial institutions or regulatory supervisory institutions with an emphasis on SBA
  • RMA CRC professional certification is a plus
  • Deep understanding of SBA lending or SBA underwriting, specifically the SBA 7a and 504 programs and working knowledge of 7a SOPs

Preferred Knowledge and Skills

  • Understanding of credit processes, such as loan origination and underwriting; credit policies; portfolio management, allowance for loan and lease losses; loan review and remediation
  • Knowledge of risk rating methodology, commercial lending and working knowledge as a credit expert
  • Thorough knowledge of federal and state banking laws related to credit risk
  • Prior experience should include progressive responsibilities, including supervising and reviewing the work of others, and project management, including self-management of simultaneous work-streams and responsibilities
  • Strong written and verbal communication and comprehension both formally and informally to our clients and our teams, in a variety of formats and settings, including in interviews, meetings, calls, e-mails, reports, process narratives, presentations, etc.
  • Direct and deliver significant engagements that deliver value to clients through project management, creation of deliverables and knowledge transfer
  • A self-starter who can prioritize multiple tasks, be resourceful and able to research and find solutions
  • Write and present to clients clear and concise reports and presentations containing meaningful recommendations
  • Willingness to travel up to 60% or more annually
