SFVAHCS - Nephrology - TeleNephrology Lead

The San Francisco VA Health Care System (SFVAHCS), in conjunction with the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) is seeking applications for the position of Tele-Nephrology Lead for Veterans Integrated Service Network (VISN) 21. The selected Lead will be full time at the SFVAHCS with a joint academic appointment at UCSF. The Lead will oversee the VISN 21-wide tele-nephrology program, including strategic planning and program development. The tele-nephrology program will provide routine and urgent tele-nephrology care to Palo Alto, Northern California, Fresno, Reno, Las Vegas and Pacific Islands systems, including their Community Based Outpatient Centers.

The Tele-Nephrology Lead will collaborate closely with the VISN 21 Specialty Care Integrated Clinical Community (ICC) Lead. This individual will also be a member of the Medicine Service. The SFVAHCS program is one of three UCSF Divisions of Nephrology, located at UCSF Mt. Zion, Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital, and the SFVAHCS. In addition to serving a key leadership role within the SFVAHCS, the Tele-Nephrology Lead will work collaboratively to support and contribute to outstanding research and education across all sites.

The ideal candidate will be suitable for a UCSF academic appointment at the level of assistant, associate or full professor in the In Residence, Clinical X, Adjunct or HS Clinical series, as evidenced by a strong track record of scholarship, teaching and clinical excellence. This individual will report academically to the Nephrology Section Chief at the SFVAHCS and operationally to the SFVAHCS Deputy Chief of Staff and the VISN 21 Chief Medical Officer (CMO). Qualified applicants will have an MD, current medical license, and be board-certified in Nephrology. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated strong leadership skills, extensive program development experience, outstanding track-record of clinical collaboration and success in mentorship and education.
