We are building a new category of AWS Applications that will make customer-centric technology developed to support Amazon.com available to AWS customers. This new category of applications will leverage the power of Artificial Intelligence and the large ecosystem of AWS services to provide a truly frustration-free, easy-to-use, extensible, and natural customer experience that has the potential to transform business operations across industries. As part of this team, you will have the opportunity play a key role in defining and developing next generation applications that will be used by millions of people every day.

We are seeking a seasoned Enterprise Sales Specialist to lead early customer engagements in support of these new AWS Applications. As a founding field team member in this fast growing, exciting space you will have the opportunity to lead early market development efforts, establish a lighthouse customers, drive early growth, and help shape the future of a service category that will have a significant impact on our customers' businesses. As a part of AWS's WW Specialist Organization (WWSO), you will partner closely with AWS Service Product Managers, Solutions Architects, Enterprise Geo Sales Organizations, and Partner leads, while also engaging with senior business and IT leaders at the CxO level within the largest/strategic AWS accounts. We are looking for someone that has proven a track record as a successful strategic sales representative, with business background and acumen that enables them to drive engagement at the CxO/VP level. The Sales Specialist should also have a demonstrated ability to think strategically about business, product, and technical challenges, and the ability to build and convey compelling value propositions.

* 7 - 10+ years of direct/matrix sales, business development, and program management experience
* Experience leading value-based, transformational sales campaigns of enterprise application software with complex, global Fortune 500 enterprises
* An understanding of operational processes in key industries such as Retail, Wholesale, Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG), Lifesciences/Pharmaceuticals, Manufacturing & Service Parts
* Track record of building rapport with senior customer executives (e.g. CEO, CIO, CTO), building close relationships, and closing large revenue accounts
* 50% travel required
* Experience and success in negotiating complex deals with customers and partners. You've not only carried quotas, you've consistently exceeded them by doing the right thing for your customer
* Proven ability to meet territory growth objectives through proactive field engagement, opportunity management and business reporting
* Experience collaborating with large Global System Integrators (GSIs) and focused System Integrators on joint sales pursuits
* Motivated self-starter, proactive, and action-oriented
* Strategic problem solving and collaboration skills
* Strong presentation and communication skills with the ability to articulate complex concepts to cross-functional audiences (both verbal and written)
* MBA preferred
* Extensive customer network
* Experience with advanced analytics solutions (e.g., Statistics, AI, Machine Learning) and advanced cloud technologies

This position can be remote, but candidates must be based near an AWS office location (Arlington, Atlanta, Austin, Boston, Chicago, Cupertino, Dallas, East Palo Alto, Herndon, Houston, Irvine, Minneapolis, New York City, Portland, San Diego, San Francisco, Washington D.C., Sunnyvale, Santa Monica, Seattle)
