Brown and Caldwell has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Client Service Manager (CSM) to join the Site Investigation & Remediation/Solid Waste (SI&R/SW) Service Line of our Private Sector Enterprise (PSE). This position will focus on developing SI&R/SW Service Line client accounts as well as help develop technical solutions to address our client's most complex challenges. Our CSMs lead, develop, and communicate (both within BC and with BC's clients) the ways in which BC differentiates our SI&R/SW services, brand, technology, regulatory, and business (e.g., contractual and risk management) strategies to create comprehensive solutions for our clients. The successful candidate will leverage and engage with Market Sector and Service Line Directors, BC's Client Service Managers and Teams, and BC's Technical Innovation Leadership Team (TILT). This position will integrate solutions from an SI&R/SW perspective with other Service Lines within the PSE, 1Water Initiative Leadership, Municipal Leadership, and other SI&R/SW industry/academic/technology leaders outside BC to develop creative solutions to client problems, making BC the "Company of Choice" in the industry.

Primary Responsibilities:

The primary role of this position is to develop and/or expand client business by leveraging BC Client Service Teams' expertise to advance new ideas throughout the Site Investigation and Remediation/Solid Waste (SI&R/SW) Service Line within the Private Sector Enterprise (PSE). In addition, the successful candidate will collaborate with our municipal business to further leverage our SI&R/SW services with our municipal clients. Specifically, the successful candidate will be responsible for guiding business, regulatory, and technical strategies to advance innovative solutions across our full range of SI&R/SW services to meet and deliver on our clients' greatest needs. Through sales and delivery involvement with clients, this person will help our Client Service Teams develop, win, and deliver new work/opportunities. This position will work with BC's Technical Innovation Leadership Team (TILT) and other key leaders to execute the company's technical strategies. Specific responsibilities include the following:

  • Coordinate and work with PSE's SI&R/SW Service Line Director to enhance and further develop client business with current and future BC clients.
  • Coordinate with BC's SI&R/SW Service Line Director and Leadership Team relative to our innovation, delivery guidelines, technical/innovation teams, and delivery best practices and policies.
  • Leverage innovation knowledge and strategies in key pursuits/proposals for BC, enhancing the probability of the win.
  • Guide engagement of BC's CSTs and technical teams to define innovation strategies and to better connect solution innovations with client needs and opportunities.
  • Coordinate with BC's leaders to guide and coordinate strategies across the SI&R/SW Service Line to support implementation/delivery throughout BC's client accounts and to new client accounts developed by the successful candidate.
  • Coordinate with SI&R/SW Leadership Team to periodically assess and refine strategy and direction for innovation priorities.
  • Coordinate and work with the SI&R/SW Director relative to PSE SI&R/SW technology research and academic partnerships, in coordination with the Company-wide Innovation Leader.
  • Promote visibility and branding of BC's SI&R/SW technical talent within BC, BC's clients, and the industry.
  • Coordinate with PSE SI&R/SW marketing and sales team to improve visibility with clients.
  • Track SI&R/SW innovation efforts applied by BC and used among our competitors, share intelligence gathered, and leverage to inform BC strategies and approach (both within BC and with BC's clients).
  • Generate/expand revenue with key accounts on the order $1M to $3M Net Revenue annually.
  • Devote an anticipated 40% of time to the above activities and the remaining 60% of your time will be billed to client projects.

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum of 20 years of experience in environmental work in the SI&R/SW industry with progressive responsibilities including marketing and business development
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering/Sciences or related discipline required, Masters or Ph.D. preferred
  • PE license, PG license, or related professional registration preferred
  • Must be well-connected with private decision-makers in the US SI&R/SW market.
  • Must have a proven track record of working with existing clients and developing new clients and projects with the ability to deliver those projects successfully, profitably, and to the client's satisfaction.
  • Ability to discern new markets and develop business in those areas.
  • Relevant business acumen to understand the benefits and liabilities of various technology developments
  • Prior experience working with business managers, communities of practice, coordinating teams, and managing projects and efforts is critical
  • Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership techniques, and coordination of people and resources.
  • Passion for innovation and ability to gain a solid knowledge base in the full range of BC's services
  • Industry knowledge, including competitors, research/academic organizations, and/or technology providers is critical
  • 40-Hour HAZWOPER certification preferred
  • Highly organized, reliable, and able to work well with others
  • Strong project management, organizational, and technical skills are required
  • Strong verbal and written (technical writing) and presentation communication skills are required
  • Must be willing and able to travel, including periodic travel for multiple days.
  • Possess a valid driver's license and good driving record.

Salary Range: The anticipated starting pay range for this position is $111,000 to $152,000 annually and may be more or less depending upon skills, experience, and education.
