Raymond West is seeking a Safety Trainer to join their growing team! The Corporate Safety Trainer provides operator and train-the-trainer classes on safe forklift operation, primarily at customer facilities in accordance with established company prices and policies. A sales quota will be determined and mutually agreed upon by the Product Support Group Manager and the Corporate Safety Trainer. This quota is accomplished by calling on existing customers, renewal customers on a regular basis and developing new customers corporate wide via referrals.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Compile lists of prospective customers from the following corporate-owned lists: Truck population history, Equipment sales history, Service Dept. top 100 customers, Parts Dept top 100 customers, Rental Dept. top 100 customers and trainer manager files.
  • Travel throughout assigned territory to service our customer base and to solicit business. Present weekly customer visitation plan to manager.
  • Follow-up on Sales, Service, Rental and Parts department leads. Talk with customers to secure new business and renewal business.
  • Demonstrate safe behavior at all times when on customer property, or when customer representatives visit RW.
  • Provide clerical associate with all documentation necessary to record student participation in training classes and generate completion certificates.
  • Meet with prospective customers and obtain orders, establish and confirm requested training dates, roster of attendees, location of class, shift hours, etc
  • Quote prices and establish credit terms/ paperwork and prepare sales contract draft. Clerical associate will prepare letterhead copy.
  • Sell training materials and approved training programs.
  • While in assigned territory, make cold calls to solicit new business. Follow up on cold calls by returning calls within one week of initial visit. Submit detailed Cold call reports to the Aftermarket Sales Manager each month for training data base development.
  • Provide clerical associate with any and all paperwork requiring corporate participation.
  • Strive for professionalism by observing and complying with all Company regulations and policies. In addition, represent the company loyally, faithfully, and with integrity. Maintain close and friendly contact with all customers and prospects within the assigned territory.
  • Hold all sales literature, price lists, and related material in a secure and confidential manner. Prevent such literature or material from being obtained by competitors.
  • Train clerical associate to fully understand the requirements of the trainer's job, including turn-around time for certificates and documents.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

High School diploma or general education degree (GED) and three years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
