This position can be based near any BC office, preference in Seattle, Denver, Boise, or Nashville.

Detailed Description:

The Industrial Water (IW) Senior Project Manager (SPM) position is charged with leading the growth and development of the IW Service Line and business through the application of knowledge and expertise in the field of water and wastewater engineering, client services and project management. This position has a special emphasis on renewable natural gas projects (RNG) from multiple sources including organic waste, farm operations and landfills. The SPM will also achieve the firm's prominence in IW through application of best technical, project management and client services practices and through the strategic vision, persuasive leadership, coordination with multiple groups within BC and application of necessary directive efforts. The SPM is an engaged and action-oriented position who will make decisions based on significant expertise and experience in the subject matter, instinct, and in coordination with the service line and business group leadership. The SPM will develop and implement project delivery strategies and tactics for the IW Service Line, in collaboration with IW Service Line, PSE, Design Services and Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) leaders.

Job Expectations:

  • Accountable for the performance and results of:
    • Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) projects
    • Other IW projects assigned as PM
  • Active business and risk manager capable of successfully planning and executing projects as SPM in the RNG space.
  • Establish industry leadership for IW services in RNG.
  • Develop relationships with key stakeholders in the RNG market.
  • Provide leadership, direction, coaching to project team members.
  • Make decisions guided by organizational and functional strategies and objectives.
  • Deliver the BC experience to employees by providing guidance and coaching staff and ensuring timely/meaningful feedback is given to support career development and progression.
  • Deliver the BC experience to clients by acting as a trusted advisor.
  • Demonstrate expert critical thinking, accountability, collaboration, communication, self-discipline, self-development, conflict resolution and adaptability/flexibility skills.
  • Work in and contribute to all areas of the IW business (business development, technology and project delivery and operations management).
  • Lead and create sustainable project delivery capabilities for the service line including recruiting and hiring of staff to accommodate the growth of the business.
  • Develop personal relationships with strategic client's key personnel.
  • Be recognized as a key leader in client organization associations.
  • Have a strong understanding of IW, business trends and competitor strategies.
  • Have a strong understanding of regulatory environment and trends for the IW business.
  • Be recognized by the PSE management team and staff as a strong leader and contributor to the overall IW business success.

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum BS in science or engineering
  • Preferred MS in engineering and/or MBA
  • Preferred PE registration
  • Minimum 15 years' experience in engineering and technical sales
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Project Management
  • Process engineering related to water and wastewater treatment with an emphasis in anaerobic digestion and biogas recovery.
  • Design delivery
  • Capital and operation and maintenance cost estimation
  • Project scheduling and work planning
  • Market perspective - Nation-wide experience and network and willing to travel throughout North America.
  • Strong client contacts - Client-friendly manner, respected by clients, adept at discerning and managing client expectations.
  • Strategic, open-minded thinker - Ability to think beyond standard Brown and Caldwell boundaries and assumptions, tireless in getting additional information to develop possible strategies.
  • Strong competitor knowledge and focus - Develops competitor evaluations and strategies in the RNG market.
  • Can-do approach - Pragmatic and enthusiastic.
  • Demonstrated team player and builder.
  • Personal experience in key areas of IW growth.
  • Recognized in client organization associations and in professional engineering circles.
  • Proficient in managing and delivering projects.
  • Capable of understanding and applying technologies commonly used in the service line including anaerobic digestion and energy (e.g. boilers, biogas conditioning and upgrading).

Salary Range: The anticipated starting pay range for this position is $137,000 - $187,000 annually may be more or less depending upon skills, experience, and education.
