Brown and Caldwell (BC) has an opportunity for a Client Service Manager with strong client management and sales experience in the municipal water, wastewater and water resources market. The candidate will work in collaboration with Regional Leaders, other Client Service Managers, Technical Practice Leaders, and the Sales and Marketing Team, developing and maintaining relationships with our clients, connecting BC solutions to client needs, and guiding procurement strategies leading to new opportunities.

Detailed Description: The California-Desert Business Unit is a thriving/growing region demanding differentiating client service, sustainable and innovative solutions, and effective collaboration with our technical service providers and client contacts. This is a highly strategic position for someone who takes pride in exceptional client service, with an eye toward sustaining and building profitable business growth.

  • Develops high-value client relationships, while representing BC.
  • Serves as Client Service Manager for one or more of our most important anchor or growth clients.
  • Engages and cultivates client service teams to support understanding and delivering on client needs and expectations.
  • Creates client engagement strategies and pursuit plans, actively leading in key opportunity proposal strategy, positioning, teaming, messaging and interview development.
  • Serves as strategic Sales Leader for California-Desert Business Unit and Company Top Pursuits.
  • Supports development of staff members, especially as it relates to exceptional client service delivery, strategic planning, pursuit positioning and effective communication.
  • Utilizes internal systems for communication, tracking and collaboration on projects and opportunities.
  • Meets identified performance metrics including annual sales goals.
  • Leverages resources, experience and skills of the firm to support client goals.
  • Collaborates with regional and national colleagues to ensure resources are deployed for the greatest project success and client satisfaction.
  • Participates in professional societies, creating connections for BC and technical professionals in support of client goals.

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • B.S. degree, emphasis in related engineering field preferred.
  • A minimum of 15 years experience in consulting and engineering services in the environmental sector with progressive client service engagement and business development responsibilities.
  • Energetic, compelling communicator with exceptional diplomatic and persuasive skills, capable of listening and interacting effectively with staff and clients at all organizational levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with clients, lead pursuit teams, and provide strong business growth results in management roles.
  • Proven understanding of environmental and regulatory drivers for clients.
  • Ability to articulate ideas and concepts both visually and contextually.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to travel for client, and business development meetings.
