Job Description

Summary:

We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated Lead Data Engineer, to join a fun-loving IT team at Accuray. In this role, you will bring your knowledge to solve complex business and data engineering challenges and help the organization achieve next level business goals. You will frequently contribute to the development of innovate ideas and methods in the Data Engineering space. You will also get to work on complex, interesting problems, where analysis of data requires an in-depth evaluation of multiple factors, best practices, governance, and architectural standards.

We expect you to lead and provide expertise to functional project teams, and you participate in cross-functional initiatives on a regular basis. We will rely on your experience and expertise to provide direction and guidance to process improvements, including helping to establish/advise on the data policies, standards, and governance. We will provide the empowered environment to utilize your independent judgment within broadly defined policies and architecture practices. You are also expected use your deep experience in mentoring and guiding other colleagues.

Key skills for this role will be SAP Data Intelligence, SAP Data Warehouse, ETL/ELT best practices, architectural understanding of Big Data, Real-Time, Batch, and Steaming as applied in a data engineering capacity. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ability to lead work as an individual contributor and a great collaborator.

  • Leads all the stages of design and development for complex, secure, performant data engineering solutions and data models, including design, analysis, coding, testing, and integration of structured/unstructured data.

  • Ability to solve the big data challenges using architectural patterns and implementing them using ETL technologies like SAP Data Intelligence, and Talend.

  • Mines data using modern tools and programming languages like Python or R. Mustbe comfortable in implementing the latest design patterns like Data Lake, Lake House, Data Mesh, etc. on cloud-based platforms.

  • Manages relationships with business partners to evaluate and foster data-driven innovation and provides domain-specific expertise in cross-organization projects/initiatives.

  • Collaborates and communicates with business and project teams regarding project progress and issue resolution.

  • Communicates and drives data insights/innovation into the business.

  • Basic understanding of data science domain by keeping up with technology and trend shifts. Contributes to business data science domain initiatives.

  • Provides guidance, training, and mentoring to team members.

Qualifications:

a. Required:

  • 8-12 years of professional experience in the field of Data Engineering, Data Analytics

  • Bachelor's in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent work experience.

  • Strong firsthand experience in Big Data ETL/ELT frameworks like SAP Data Intelligence, and Talend. Good to have an understanding of cloud based ETL/ELT technologies like Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Dataflows.

  • Deep understanding of Data and Application Integration patterns and Practices.

  • Fluent in structured and unstructured data, its management, and modern data transformation methodologies.

  • Experience in ETL implementing Data Lake and Data warehouse data pipelines.

  • Exposure to CI/CD pipelines & GitHub.

  • Ability to define and create complex models to pull valuable insights, predictions, and innovation from data.

  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills and a can-do attitude.

  • Ability to effectively communicate data insights and negotiate options at senior management levels.

b. Preferred:

  • Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science

  • Previous experience in implementing Data Warehouse solutions including SAP Data Warehouse Cloud, Azure Synapse, or similar platforms

  • Understanding of Data Modelling principles including Star, and Snowflake schemas.

  • Exposure to one or more Self-Service Business Intelligence platforms like SAP Analytics Cloud, Power BI, or Tableau.

  • 8-12 years of professional experience in the field of Data Engineering, Data Analytics

  • Great to have certifications in Cloud computing on Azure, AWS, or SAP
