The position will work as part of the credit trading group on TCW’s Fixed Income team and be one of the two senior investment grade credit traders with trading and portfolio management responsibilities. Primary duties will include idea generation, position optimization, relative value, allocation and ultimate execution across $50billion+ of total firm investment grade credit.

The ideal candidate should have a strong knowledge of investment grade credit markets, credit fundamentals, technology and systems to manage investment grade credit portfolios. Strong communication skills are also required for this individual to articulate TCW’s investment process, philosophy and portfolio positioning to existing and prospective clients

• Responsible for idea generation, position optimization, relative value, allocation and ultimate execution across investment grade credit portfolio.
• Write commentary about markets, manage and report on portfolio positioning
• Communicate internally with portfolio managers, traders in other sectors and client service personnel
• Act as a contributing member of the credit committee 

• Minimum seven years of experience in the securities industry with five years in investment grade research/trading
• Knowledge of managing multiple portfolios across different strategies
• Bachelor’s Degree from a reputable university or college with strong academic performance and relevant coursework
• Excellent math/finance and strong computer skills, particularly Excel
• Proficiency with Bloomberg
• Strong oral and written communication skills

• Diligent, hard-working, responsible, willing to work both in a team setting and independently, and have proven these characteristics
• Ability to multi-task in a trade room atmosphere
• Entrepreneurial attitude; creativity to search out investment opportunities

• Graduate degree and/or CFA designation strongly preferred; or, equivalent work experience

Estimated Compensation:

Base Salary: The salary range for this position is estimated to be $200k to $225k.  This represents base salary range only and not total compensation

Other Compensation: In addition to the base salary, this position will be eligible to be considered for an annual discretionary bonus.
