JOB PURPOSE
Amcor Capsules supplies closures for the Wine and Spirits segments (screwcaps and capsules).
The division serves North American Customers predominantly from its St Cesaire Plant in Canada, as well from its finishing, trading and service Operations at American Canyon, California. Those Plants are supported and connected with the other Amcor Capsules Plants in France and in Chile to serve products not manufactured in North America. We are the market leader in North America with significant sales growth during last years and strong recognized brands like Stelvin. Amcor is well recognised for its technical expertise, innovative packaging solutions and enhanced quality products. It provides strong technical support with its Field Technical Service teams. Building on the positive market dynamics, on its market leadership position and on the investments stream validated for North American capsules operations, North America is a strategic region for Global Capsules Business to deliver profitable growth in the future.
The Account Manager is expected to provide effective strategic and tactical sales direction and communication strategies to grow existing business and profitability and to gain new accounts.
You will partner with the local sales team, the marketing and the R&D teams to build account plans for assigned accounts and to capture new business. Critical to the role is your ability to negotiate and communicate effectively internally and externally across all levels of the organization.
You will be working in an international environment.
JOB DIMENSION & SCOPE
Number & Type of Accounts: Mix of approximately 75 - 100 local and key accounts,
Budget Responsibility: ~5 to 7 million USD
Geographic spread: Central West Coast (Napa Valley)
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Identify comprehensive understanding of customer needs both long term and short term and drive opportunities aligned with Amcor Capsules portfolio
- Manage growth plans for assigned accounts and develop plans to target new account
- Maintain and build strong relationships with key decision makers of assigned accounts. Identify key decision makers and craft relationship map to ensure strategic and tactical alignment
- Collaborate closely with R&D, Marketing and Operations to ensure account strategies are implemented
- Collaborate closely with Operations and Supply Chain to ensure account demand accuracy by monitoring and analysing data
- Align cross-functionally with customer to agree on sustainability and innovation paths forward
- Monitor business performance against target - both volume and margin and coordinate corrective actions to sales programs, if necessary, to achieve target commitments
- Set up the strategy and marketing orientation for the business, on short- and long-term basis
- Use of salesforce.com and other Amcor tools to follow sales and profits
- Customer support – address customer inquiries, resolve issues, and provide timely and efficient solutions to ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction
Qualifications & Requirements
- Formal Qualifications and Experience
- BA or BS with experience in the sales of B2B solutions required
- CRM systems knowledge, preferably Salesforce.com
- Previous sales negation experience both internal and external
- Wine, glass, label, or capsule industry knowledge
- Valid driving license in California

Salary ranges depending on the seniority between 85 000 and 115 000 $
