Role Description:

We are looking for an experienced Director of Data Science and AI/ML to join our Marketing Strategy, Analytics, and Operations team.  Specifically, someone that will be able to leverage their advanced analytics background to partner with our Demand Generation, Web and Growth Marketing teams and drive the business forward.  You will be able to dive into our acquisition strategies and help optimize our ability to target the right buyers at the right time.  You will work with our data strategy team to collect and cleanse the right data and then apply highly sophisticated ML models to test high propensity audiences based on their online and offline signals.  

This is a great opportunity to consult with a broad set of stakeholders within Marketing, Sales, IT/Data strategy to help inform and adapt our GTM strategies with your data-driven analyses.  Your work will inspire our marketing team to try new experiments and potentially invest in new markets.    

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the Analytics lead to build customer segmentation propensity models for personas and buying cohorts based on firmographic, demographic, and behavioral traits.  Help eliminate the accounts that don’t fit our ICP and prioritize those with intent data and activity.  Collect user job titles, job classes, and signals from our digital properties and third party data sources.

 

  • Collaborate with Growth, Demand Gen, and Web Marketing teams  to conduct business case / opportunity sizing, as well as report out on performance via A/B test and long-term campaign results (e.g., revenue impact, ROI, retention, customer growth)
  • Develop and launch these machine learning models that can forecast customer behavior, identify highest-value prospects, personalize marketing messages and also have the ability to influence investment and campaign strategies
  • Help illustrate our customer journeys through digital attribution and making our web engagement transparent for lifecycle and growth marketing initiatives
  • Understand our offline campaign and event strategy to construct upsell and cross-sell initiatives with existing pipeline analyses and identifying win rate success  
  • Study emerging markets and macroeconomic trends to help drive pilots for our products 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 8+ years experience in a directly related field such as data science, marketing science, and/or marketing analytics in the paid media measurement space.
  • Specific to Marketing, driving analytics for growth/demand gen marketing and web initiatives  with AI (e.g., ML, genAI, recommendation systems, etc.) 
  • 2+ years experience managing a team of data scientists and working with Marketing functions and associated data science projects, including but not limited to Lead Scoring (ML models),  Multi-touch Attribution (MTA), Media Mix Modelling (MMM), Spend Optimization, Life-Time Value Modelling (LTV), and Return on Ad Spend (RoAS)
  • Experience analyzing and manipulating data sets using R, Python, SQL and applying statistics where appropriate to understand patterns and provide insights
  • In-depth knowledge of marketing concepts, including customer acquisition strategies, marketing channels, and attribution modeling
  • Ability to communicate highly complex mar-tech and measurement concepts to executive audiences.
  • A deep understanding of applied statistics including sampling approaches, causal modeling, time series analysis, and data-mining techniques.
  • Experience with building these models as well as working with 3rd party tools such as 6sense, Zoominfo, Clearbit, Drift, Bombora, Marketo, Salesforce

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in a quantitative field such as engineering, analytics, statistics, or data science related fields
  • Demonstrated leadership experience at an industry level and with senior clients
  • A deep understanding of the digital advertising and RoAS measurement ecosystem as it relates to Google SEM, LinkedIn, and FB
  • Experience with marketing mix modeling/econometric analysis and/or other branches of market research (custom survey research, advertising testing or tracking, new product research, etc.)
  • Experience with conversion rate optimization platforms (Optimizely, Intellimize, etc.), specifically as it applies to analysis of test results as part of wider demand generation efforts.
  • Experience with website analytics platforms such as Google Analytics (GA4), Adobe Analytics (SiteCat), or similar. 
  • Self-starter who is equally comfortable presenting to C-level executives as being “plugging in” and writing queries/code.
  • A proven track record of building and influencing client or partner relationships.

Zscaler’s salary ranges are benchmarked and are determined by role and level. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations and could be higher or lower based on a multitude of factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

The base salary range listed for this full-time position excludes commission/ bonus/ equity (if applicable) + benefits.

$200,000$250,000 USD
