AWS Alliance Business Development Manager
(Remote - West U.S. or West Canada)
The Opportunity
Instrumental to our company’s growth objectives, we are looking for an experienced Business Development Manager to help us continue our growing engagement with Amazon Web Services (AWS) as we expand. This is a key role in business planning and execution of joint go-to-market strategies with our AWS cloud partner to drive customer adoption of Capella through co-sell and co-marketing activities.
The Organization
Reporting to the Head of Cloud Partnerships, the AWS Alliance Business Development Manager will be a crucial member of the Business Development organization’s Global Cloud Partner team. This team is responsible for developing the company’s strategic partnerships with top cloud service providers. In this role, you’ll be collaborating with teams across the organization including sales, marketing, product, engineering, legal, and operations, to build new programs, promotions, and sales plays in support of generating new business together with AWS.
We’re looking for a cloud savvy individual contributor who wants to work in an exciting, fast-paced environment to continue scaling our engagement with AWS. The ideal candidate will have experience working in and around the cloud service providers with the ability to learn, be curious, and coachable--operating both tactically and strategically.
Responsibilities
- Manage and drive the AWS cloud partnership across sales, marketing, product and engineering. Grow the partner relationship success and satisfaction.
- Lead the AWS cloud relationship from the contractual, operational, and reporting perspective. Identify and develop new areas of the partnership which are accretive for both organizations.
- Serve as the subject matter expert for managing the AWS deal registration portal, marketplace private offer execution, account mapping, and other co-selling mechanics.
- Act as the partner’s advocate within Couchbase and educate on how we can further grow our AWS partnership.
- Lead bi-lateral sales enablement of Capella on AWS, including the conception, process, and measurement of collaborative incentives and programs to promote Capella adoption on the AWS cloud platform.
- Utilize, measure, and maintain access to AWS co-investment funds
- Collaborate with marketing to drive joint marketing activity and product management to identify value-adding integrations.
- Develop an overall strategy and success plan for the partnership. Drive monthly, quarterly progress towards strategic goals within the plan.
Qualifications
- 4-6 years of alliance management, business development, enterprise sales, or similar
- Experience with cloud service providers and key cloud concepts: AWS (preferred), Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud
- Understanding of NoSQL or relational database space ideal
- Self-starter with the energy and focus to move with pace and urgency
- Excellent communication, strategic thinking, and commercial skills
- BA/BS degree or commensurate experience required
- MBA and/or technical competence is a plus

This is a remote position within the United States or Canada. Must be willing to travel up to 25% as required.
