Job Description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Product Owner:

  • Works with Marketing and other stakeholders to contribute to product vision, roadmap, return on investment
  • Defines user stories in collaboration with other stakeholders (customers, functional manager, systems engineering, systems architect, product manager), including the Definition of Done
  • Owns the team backlog and sets priorities for user stories
  • Ensures Validation success and customer acceptance through regular customer contact and routing customer feedback into backlog items for the product being developed.
  • Facilitates execution of the product vision as provided by Product Management.
  • Is the product expert: customer-use-of-product aware, practical, and technically savvy.
  • Ensures that the product is built to meet the user requirements in an acceptable way using product, customer, and the development team knowledge to continuously define and refine the product evolution in day-to-day activities. Tasks the right people to find out where questions cannot be answered.
  • In collaboration with the Scrum Master and Functional Manager, defines User Stories from Epics, prioritizing the team backlogs to feed development pipeline, and works with system engineers to maintain the conceptual and technical integrity of the features.
  • Has a significant role in maximizing the value produced by the team by ensuring Stories cover Epics, meet the user's needs, and comply with the Definition of Done.
  • Continues to monitor the product's acceptance and use in the field to drive feedback into follow-on releases to increase/sustain customer loyalty over time
  • Provides knowledge transfer to and gather feedback from other parts of the company (marketing, training, service, field support, documentation)
  • Feature areas include: Adaptive radiotherapy, treatment planning, replanning, retreatment, optimization, approvals, auto-segmentation, deformation, delivery analysis, patient QA, tracking, archiving, data redundancy, audit trails, reports, remote review tools. Some travel required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience as a Product Owner in the radiation oncology community preferred
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in the medical device industry
  • Clinical or technical background, with experience in radiation therapy or radiosurgery considered highly advantageous
  • Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent teamwork skills
