We believe the San Francisco Bay Area is at its best when people from all backgrounds can start a life here, raise a family here, and thrive here. We have made pioneering contributions toward ending the brutal impact of homelessness on families. Our efforts have stimulated advances in policy, research, and innovation to ending family homelessness in the San Francisco Bay Area.
 

Our Mission

Our mission is to end family homelessness in the San Francisco Bay Area through programs of shelter, transitional housing, permanent housing, homelessness prevention, resource referral, and advocacy. We are focused on achieving the following homelessness- and housing-specific outcomes:
 

  • Break the cycle of homelessness by disrupting the cycle of poverty
  • Ensure homelessness is rare, brief and nonrecurring
  • Ensure housing is accessible and affordable for all Bay Area families

Hamilton Families envisions a Bay Area where housing is accessible and affordable, where homelessness is rare, brief, and nonrecurring, and where all people and families have a safe and stable place to live.
