Company Overview

Founded in 1941 as The Art Center in La Jolla, the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego (MCASD) has evolved into an organization of national and international renown. The Collection includes more than 4,700 works created since 1950, and reflects an artistic program that encourages promising emerging artists and recognizes mid-career artists whose work deserves more visibility. The Museum serves the region as a vital cultural and civic asset, with contemporary art and living artists at its core.

LAND ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
The Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego is located on the unceded territory of the Kumeyaay people, who have stewarded these lands for generations. We MCASD’s staff extend our gratitude for the opportunity to live, work, and learn in their traditional homelands. We celebrate this community’s vital contributions and rich cultural traditions by offering this land acknowledgment and affirming that the Kumeyaay people maintain sovereignty and autonomy over their land. We are committed to dismantle structures that harm Indigenous communities.

CAREERS
Come grow with us: With our current expansion efforts well underway at our La Jolla campus, which will double the building’s overall size, it is an exciting time to join MCASD. We are positioned to be a cultural beacon for the region upon re-opening our La Jolla flagship building. MCASD provides employees with a collaborative work culture where they can combine both their love and support of the arts and work in an enriching and diverse environment, while further developing their specific professional knowledge, skills, and abilities.
