Job Description

There is a need to support our established customers to safely and confidently use Accuray RT systems to their full potential by teaching them new development and clinical application and to groom personal relationship with key opinion leaders and key partner networks. The connection with our customers should not be limited to the the time of Accuray equipment acquisition but should continue throughout the lifespan of the machine until replacement. This will enable to keep our customers updated on the most efficient way to deliver treatment, be appraised of potential upgrades, and informed about clinical and technical innovations.

As a leader of KOL relationships this position will be responsible for developing personal relationships with KOLs in the Americas region, serving as the liaison between the KOLs and Accuray. This position will leverage relationships with customers to identify key areas of focus for medical education and training and will work collaboratively with customers, product and regional marketing teams, regional commercial leaders and the global training and education teams to create and execute associated training strategies. This position will also collect and share information relating to the needs of the of the installed base with key functional leaders and the executive staff.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement ad-hoc educational expert groups in clinical radiation oncology, medical physics, dosimetry, and radiation therapy to develop clinical consensus on specific tumor sites to optimize the use of Accuray devices. For example, this includes consensus how to best deliver ultra-hypofractionated lung SBRT in 5 or 1 fractions, accelerated partial breast irradiation, prostate SBRT, total body irradiation.
  • Collaborate on the development and implementation of training curriculum and teaching modules focusing on SBRT, SRS, long field, complex volumes. Those modules will cover clinical oncology and most updated results, medical physics and dosimetry, workflow, treatment quality assurance, billing and healthcare finance.
  • Develop and coordinate the delivery strategy for training that requires customer-to-customer interaction.
  • Develop and implement a network of consultants, especially KOLs in the AMS, to deliver teaching modules and produce treatment guidelines.
  • When possible, obtain the accreditation of those courses through various societies.
  • Develop, organize and deliver crash courses in close collaboration with global and regional clinical training teams.
  • Leverage on-line and remote curriculum strategies where applicable.
  • Develop collaborations and contracts with various industries providing radiotherapy training, e.g. Aquilab for contouring modules
  • Participate to the literature global surveillance on clinical innovation in SBRT, SRS, and Accuray products.
  • Evaluate the needs of the installed base regarding technology and clinical processes.

Qualifications:

Preferred or Desired:

  • Management experience
  • Contract negotiation experience

Required: Qualifications that a candidate "must have" that are critical to success in the role.

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • English as a first language
  • At least a 10-year experience in the field of radiation oncology
  • A longstanding experience of organizing training for radiation oncology staffs, with a minimum of 5-year experience
  • A longstanding experience of developing personal connection with KOLs in the field of radiation oncology, medical physics, and radiation therapy
  • A longstanding experience of developing a network of AMS Key Opinion Leaders
  • Ability to effectively communicate deadlines, updates, issues, and accomplishments, concisely, clearly and in ways that motivate others and build team spirit
  • Results-focused with a track record of consistent achievement
  • Flexibility to work early and late hours to collaborate with global team members.
  • Frequent travel required
