Job Summary JOB OVERVIEW The Staff Research Associate I (SRA I) will be involved in research in the laboratory of Dr. Susanna Rosi, in the Department of Physical Therapy, and will work under the direct supervision of the Principal Investigator (PI). The mission of the Rosi laboratory is to investigate the mechanism of memory loss after injury to the brain. By understanding the mechanism, we hope to advance prospects for treatment and prevention.
Under the direction of Dr. Rosi and other lab members, SRA I will conduct day-to-day wet lab work such as DNA, RNA and protein isolation from rodent blood and tissue samples, PCR analysis, and reagent preparation. The SRA I will perform animal husbandry responsibilities including breeding and health maintenance, along with animal behavior assays. The SRA I will assist in data analysis using Excel, GraphPad, and Ethovision.
The SRA I is expected perform small animal dissection, histology, immunohistochemistry and be versed in all aspects of scientific imaging including light microscopy and fluorescent microscopy. SRA I will attend lab meetings, perform laboratory and administrative duties, such as chemical inventory and safety in the lab.

Required Qualifications * BA/BS degree in a related science and knowledge of, or experience with, the basic techniques or methods required by the position; or an equivalent combination of education and experience * Experience using Excel and Access for data entry and management of research data * Attention to detail, good at teamwork and collaboration, good organizational skills and record keeping * Ability to work as a team, meet deadlines and ability to learn new skills for changing research priorities
Preferred Qualifications * Master' degree of Science, Cell and Molecular Biology * Experience conducting literature searches for manuscript preparation * Experience managing biological samples and handling for multiple research studies
