Responsibilities

As a member of a field based team, the Medical Science Liaison (MSL) will be responsible for providing accurate clinical, scientific and medical information, specifically associated with metabolic and liver related diseases, aligned to key opinion leaders, scientific experts, healthcare professionals and the provider/payer community at large. You will also:

  • Identify, establish and maintain collaborative relationships with key experts, investigators and institutions
  • Deliver effective clinical presentations to internal and external audiences
  • Leverage knowledge of standards of care and company/investigator sponsored clinical trials and competitor landscape to facilitate external-internal research communication
  • Support Medical Affairs activities including publications, medical conference staffing, advisory boards and speaker training
  • Maintain a scientific and clinical knowledge base through continuous learning and awareness of scientific literature
  • Identify and communicate key clinical and research issues and insights from industry leaders

Job Requirements

Along with your ability to remain at the forefront of your field, you must possess:

  • An advanced doctoral degree (MD, PhD, PharmD, NP, PA)
  • 5+ years industry experience
  • 3+ years' working as a MSL
  • Experience with liver disease, obesity or other metabolic disease is preferred
  • Experience with in vitro diagnostics (IVDs) is a plus
  • Clear understanding of MSL roles/responsibilities and Medical Affairs activities, including publication planning, medical information, advisory board development and management
  • Product launch experience preferred
  • Strong scientific and clinical acumen
  • Ability to quickly understand and translate scientific data and recognize the potential impact of that data on clinical practice and prospective research needs
  • Ability to effectively engage with diverse internal and external stakeholders and partner with remote teams
  • Experience engaging with Health Professionals in compliance with US regulations and, where appropriate, Global regulations
  • Ability to travel 60% (including overnight travel) and possess a valid driver's license to drive to assignments, unless otherwise specified
  • Spanish, French, or any foreign language is a plus
  • Reside in the territory to which assigned or willingness to relocate at own expense
