Responsibilities

Holland America Group is currently searching for a highly motivated Sr. Programmer Analyst - COBOL who will provide support to enhance an in-house developed reservation system and any related supporting systems.

*Develop and analyze business and functional requirements and technical design documents.
*Design, develop, implement and document new and existing systems.
*Structure general design requirements into an application system; defining information flow, program functions and data requirements.
*Define test criteria, prepare and compile test cases, analyze results and validate systems.
*Verifies accuracy of analysis results by using current, valid, and reliable data.
*Interpret unstructured code and adhere to coding standards.
*Perform regression, unit and system testing.
*Respond in a timely manner to production support issues and adhere to policies and procedures.
*Assist with project planning and reporting.

Requirements


*Bachelor's degree in MIS, Computer Science or equivalent combination of academic and practical experience.
*Minimum of five years of software/application programming, coding or development experience.
*Proficiency using CICS, IBM COBOL, JCL and Debugging software.
*Work independently in a fast paced team environment under supervision of a Project Leader on the Reservations team.
*Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
*Ability to analyze and solve problems in a complex environment.
*Must be flexible and able to work in on multiple projects at the same time and able to estimate time required to complete tasks and meet deadlines.
*Ability to work after hours, including weekends/holidays to meet project or implementation schedules.
*Ability to provide on-call support as needed after hours.

Preferences
*DB2 experience.
*Working knowledge of system development life cycle methodologies.
