Job summary:

The Director is responsible for the management, control and administration of ENC Aftermarket Support Functions. This individual will be responsible for planning, scheduling and direction to a group of technicians and parts personnel to ensure that all repairs and maintenance are done in a safe and timely manner, reducing lost productivity within the shop and achieve sales and productivity objectives. The role will be responsible for developing service/parts operations, gross profit and expense controls.

Specific duties and responsibilities:

  • Responsible for timely technical support to end customers and dealers.
  • Manages and schedules field service technicians to customer facilities.
  • Processes and reviews all warranty claims.
  • Responsible for the aftermarket parts operation and stocking of inventory to ensure efficiency and prompt delivery.
  • Coordinates flow and interaction between Production, owner relations, parts and dealer support to ensure communications and information flow.
  • Ensures compliance with federal, local and corporate standards to meet requirements.
  • Develops and produces facility communications with regard to objectives, safety, process flow, standards, quality and customer feedback to ensure understanding of goals and objectives.
  • Ensures prompt recovery of parts and labor credits due ENC for the repair of Supplier warranted components or appliances.
  • Ensures prompt feedback to the appropriate department or departments related to products issues, complaints, etc.
  • Attends meetings, planning sessions, etc. to participate in product improvement and planning processes.
  • Ensures that the service/parts staff understand and conform to all established and approved policies and procedures, including Owner care.
  • Ensures timeliness and accuracy of monthly facility reporting of key measurements.
  • Recruits and approves employment of personnel.
  • Supervises the training and development of service facility associates.
  • Manages workforce, human resource functions, team leadership, and diversity to meet company standards and established professional standards.
  • Works with the engineering department with supplying technicians for testing.
  • Coordinates shipping of completed buses.
  • Other assignments as designated by the VP/GM.

Requirements:

  • Strong management, leadership and motivation skills.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical system knowledge.
  • High level of tolerance for very vocal and persistent customers in high pressure situations.
  • Strong computer skills with knowledge of appropriate software packages.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).
  • Good problem-solving capabilities.
  • Strong operational planning capabilities.
  • Ability to lead change.

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or Management or equivalent experience.

Work Experience:

Five plus years of truck/bus experience at a heavy/medium duty operation or dealership and preferably possess background with these vehicles in a service/warranty leadership role.
