Overview

Jensen Hughes is seeking a Security Consultant in the great Baltimore- DC region or Chicagoland area. Remote work is available for experienced professionals. Jensen Hughes is a global leader in specialty engineering consulting services, protecting property, life, and the environment through our innovative engineering solutions and technologies. The position will work on a wide variety of projects in the federal, commercial and industrial arenas.

Responsibilities
    Perform existing condition surveys of building and facilities
  • Perform security assessments of various facilities including corporate and government buildings, industrial facilities, and residences
  • Create security system plans and details for inclusion in project permit drawing set and/or bid packages
  • Create point-to-point wiring diagrams for security systems
  • Create and edit construction and equipment specifications
  • Create and edit policy, design and standards guides
  • Select appropriate hardware and software for varying clients and applications
  • Work closely with client on a regular basis for project definition, development, estimating and project support
  • Manage multiple projects, including budgets, prioritization of tasks, timing, and deadlines for deliverables
  • Provide exceptional client focus to include responding to client inquiries, producing proposals for new and existing clients, and proactively developing new and existing client relationships
  • Generate new business through development of new client relationships as well as expanding existing client relationships
  • Manage United States Department of State (DoS) and Bureau of Overseas Buildings Operations (OBO) Projects:
    • Familiarity and experience with the development of technical security systems design documents in accordance with applicable DoS/OBO requirements and guidelines.
    • Design documents include floor plans, riser and block diagrams, installation details, and specifications.
    • Coordinate technical security systems needs with applicable parties/trades.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 10+ years of experience in security system design to include current knowledge of AutoCAD, Microstation and/or REVIT
  • Experience on Department of State/Bureau of Overseas Buildings Operations security design work is desirable
  • Knowledge of low voltage systems (structured cabling design (copper / fiber), relay logic design, basic IP networking, electrified door hardware)
  • Knowledge of basic construction, electrical, building and fire codes.
  • Electronic security system manufacturer's certification(s) a plus.
  • Exceptional written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Electrical Engineer or Electrical Designer with knowledge, experience, and certification(s) in the following types of electronic protective systems:
    • Security (Security Management, Access Control, Video Surveillance and Intrusion Detection Systems)
    • Fire Alarm
    • Two-way Voice Communications
  • Top Secret Security clearance highly desirable

Preferred:

  • Associates or bachelor's degree is desirable
  • CPP and/or PSP certification(s)
  • Electronic security system manufacturer's certification(s)
  • Experience working with a multi-disciplinary consulting team
